Is anyone concerned that scientists may be getting a little too ambitious and may destory the world? I guess if it happens, I'll never know, as it will happen so fast. So I guess that's not so bad. Yes I know, there is nothing to fear. As there won't be enough hydrogen available to sustain the reaction. Normal earth elements such as carbon are too big for fusion reactions I suppose.Comment

Things have been steadily warming since the end of the Pleistocene. In fact we define the Holocene as the beginning of the warming period which begun 10,000 years ago. In the last 100 years the world has experienced an average temperature change of 0.5 to 1.0 °F where as during the midieval warm period temperatures rose between 5 to 8 °F and during the mini ice age temperatures dropped between 5 to 10 °F.Originally posted by Odin
The Mideval Warm Period and "Little Ice Age" where just the latest 2 variations, there was nothing unusual about them except that they are the most well known. We are curently going past the MWP level, and we may reach average temperatures not seen since the Altithermal 6,000 years ago in a few decades. Another reason it is most likely not natural is that since the Altithermal, things have been cooling off untill 100 ago, this drastic warming is way out of character for an Interglacial that is long past the Altithermal "hump".
What's different now is the temperatures seem to be changing a bit more quickly then in previous warming or cooling events. Over all however the changes observed do fall well with in previously observed natural temperature changes.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment
