  • Vegas in June

I'll be in Vegas in late June to present a paper at a conference or something like that. If any of y'all are in the area then I'll tip the waitress on your behest so that she'll bring you a whole buncha booze. Or I'll just buy you a drink, if the waitress stears clear of the nickel slots.

Note for the broke-ass academic types -- Vegas in late June is cheap, due to the imminent threat of death by heat stroke if you venture outside of whatever air-conditioned hotel you're staying in. Or at least, I'm assuming that's the reason that my Vegas per diem is $20 less for the summer months than for the rest of the year. Plus, you might be able to get a part-time job of handing out porn trading cards while you're in town.

Edit: I oughta sneak in a quick "Jump up your butt" and/or "Poop in your mouth" or whatever have you before this thread gets deleted for being too off-topic and/or not off-topic enough for an off-topic forum.

Are you talkin' weekdays or weekends. That makes a difference to most folks.

IIRC, I'm arriving on Sunday June 26th and leaving on Friday July 1st.

That is probably why your per diem is off. Vegas is cheaper Sunday night through Thursday.

        ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

That's true, but the folks who set the per diem rates evidently weren't clever and/or anal retentive enough to vary them from day-to-day, only from season-to-season. At least, so say The Rules.

Vegas gets most of it's tourism in June. Don't kid yourself. The heat doesn't keep anyone away.
