With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I used to drink the non-import Newcastles (8% ETOH IIRC) which is different to the stuff you can buy in the USA.

ever heard of this company called "Apple"?

              So?

What does that have to do with it? I don't buy Apple to brand whore, but because my previous choice, Microsoft, was a load of ****e. If Apple turns to ****e, I will be first in the queue for Gentoo.

Nothing wrong with being a "consumer" or engaging in "consumerism".

I find it laughable that someone can find fault with individuals purchasing life's necessities and pleasures. Why do you care how other people spend their money?

Consumerism has been a social custom that has been around since Grog opened up a brand new "cavefront" (the first storefront) selling stone tools and fire "to go".

I find it laughable that anyone could still think as you do in this day and age.

Being a consumer is just slightly different from getting infected by consumerism.

                      • mighty fine distinction to make in this day and age.

Might I ask who decides what is being a consumer or consumerism? Is it a Off-Topic poll at Apolyton? Please the world awaits the decision.

                        • Maybe people prefer coke over pepsi because it tastes better. Maybe some people prefer apple over what ever ms, because they feel it's better. Maybe they like those colognes better because they think they smell the best.

But of course we are all whores and agathon is just an observant customer who doesn't care about brands, just facts, and we don't care about facts, and in fact buy against our own will to support more expensive brand that is from big corporates that submits African and Asian countries and are the front runners for globalisation that is the Satan and the Evil, killing people with hunger and desperation so we can stuff our fat bellies into some ****ty brand shirt instead of stuffing it into much better, yet reasonably priced shirt our momma made to us.

Sounds totally reasonable this thing. Maybe you enlightened people should consider the fact that you are a huge minority, like nuts always are, that maybe the rest are right and you're just ****ing crazy? Have you ever thought of that? I'm not saying it's like that, I'm saying it's a possibility you should consider
