Again a victory against taste (as usual). Norway or Moldova would have deserved victory. Well, the fat Maltese woman had a great voice and the song was rather good for a "Schnulze".
Germany...
Also, ex-Yugoslavian nations (and maybe Scandinavians) should be excluded from voting. While other alliances are limited to 2 (Greece, Cyprus) or 3 nations (UK, Ireland, Malta), Croatia has 40 points fixum from Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia.
Macedonia gets additional 12 points from Albania...
And it's official: More people in Austria watch the voting than the contest."The world is too small in Vorarlberg". Austrian ex-vice-chancellor Hubert Gorbach in a letter to Alistar [sic] Darling, looking for a job...
"Let me break this down for you, fresh from algebra II. A 95% chance to win 5 times means a (95*5) chance to win = 475% chance to win." Wiglaf, Court jester or hayseed, you judge.

22. United Kingdom 18
23. France - 11
24. Germany - 4"Spirit merges with matter to sanctify the universe. Matter transcends to return to spirit. The interchangeability of matter and spirit means the starlit magic of the outermost life of our universe becomes the soul-light magic of the innermost life of our self." - Dennis Kucinich, candidate for the U. S. presidency
"That’s the future of the Democratic Party: providing Republicans with a number of cute (but not that bright) comfort women." - Adam Yoshida, Canada's gift to the world

If you want to see "alliances", check out the voting patterns of the Baltic nations. However I think that's just a reflection of shared cultural values between neighbours, not some sort of conspiracy.
This means the multitude of little nations in the east now benefit, at the expense of the big nations in the West. That's why Western Europe comes last. The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland

Well, that was officially the campiest thing I've watched lately. Next year, I'm so hosting my own Eurovision party instead of viewing it in a bar.Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Yeah I definately agree that Norway would have deserved the win.... they at least had some music... instead everyone just votes for a hot chick with an average song
And actually, I didn't find the ukranian rapper that bad.
On the positive front was that this time the classic votes did not decide so much. Ofc we saw the former eastern block giving points to russia and the mandatory Greece-Cyprus ( ) and of course Ex-Yugoslawia should be forced to be reunited again (based on how they vote for each other) but overall it was not that severe.

The only song with even a bit of character was Moldova. The rest was a boring sludge of off-key singing, ethno crap and really bad clothing. Fashion disasters without an artistic bone in their bodies
And while Greece had a great show and Elena has a great voice (and she is from my hometown! ) the song itself was the same boring ethno crap as many others. Not to mention the fact that it was strangely disjointed between verse and refrain.I love being beaten by women - Lorizael

The voting chart is very interesting, although it doesn't give a definite conclusion.
I didn't watch it, my closest friend Kostas had invited me out for drinks. All our female friends came 2 hours late because they were watching the contest however."In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
