No, because when Kroger broke the union in California they really stuck it to the workers where I worked here in Oregon. They were really nasty about it, accusing the workers of a strike that cost them 30 million and that they had to cut wages and benefits to new employees to cover the loss. Thing is, we hadn't gone on strike. Kroger also fired hundreds of people, just in our area, just after Christmas. A friend of mine was among them. He was a recovering alchoholic that hadn't had a drink in a year. He had cleaned up and gotten the job to look after his ailing mother. Well, he was a good worker but he was fired. Went back on the bottle, don't know what happened to him, moved away. They accused them all of improper use of the discount card... but they were just cutting payroll because the busy holiday season was over. I don't work for them anymore.
