I'm glad I was only 14 and less aware during Rwanda. If the same thing happened today and we sat on our asses doing nothing while UN observers were reporting back to us that literally ten thousand people a day were dying for 3 straight months I think my head would explode.

I think he probably came down near me on a lot of moral issues like Rwanda, but had well-developed reflexes to avoid his responsibilities if they were politically uncomfortable.
