It did a better job than the books at least .
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I only really liked two things from the movie:

      Spoiler:
      1) The Vogons
      2) When the Infinite Improbability Drive turns them into yarn and Arthur is sick into the wastebasket

The rest was mildly amusing at best.

Yeah, I saw that... I wish they had that with the text.

I think he would have been happy with it .

Is that who that was? I thought it was the guy from Magrathea who tried to shoot down the Heart of Gold.

Oh yes. I think Addams probably tried to do it this way for the specific reason to get some critic to complain about the plot!

I'd kill for an mp3 of that song.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
                    -Richard Dawkins

Good rendition of the book (except for Arthur getting Trillian in the end). Much better than I expected it to be. Very imaginative portrayal of the book.
