Our tech-teacher didn't know what 127.0.0.1 was until we told him

I don't know what's more funny about the "hacker", how can he hack his own computer several times and format the HDs without even finding out, and what kind of hacker would 'go over' to the person he wants to hack tell him what your intentions are and then ask about the persons IP

This space is empty... or is it?

      That IS sad!!!
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

          So, what's 127.0.0.1 then?

what they should have done is to get his IP, call the cops on his ass claiming he has child pornography on his computer (from prepaid phone service driving 160km/h in highway wearing unusual clothes and hiding your talkign and then dumping the card afterwards before hacking it to million pieces) adn see how he likes them apples.
              In da butt.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any thing on his HDs anymore.

was that the idea? No. It was to get cops raiding on his ass while he is re-installing windows again.

                  Why you ask? Why not?

And yes, I realise most normal users will not know what that address is. However, among "hackers" and people with a basic networking knowledge that is one of the first things you learn. That is one of the first things you need to learn to get anywhere with networking so if you do not know that address, it reveals that your networking knowledge is virtually nil.

And quite clearly, the guy is harmless. While out to cause harm, he is much too stupid to do any and can (and was) handled easily by letting his stupidity run its course.

One day though, he may not be quite so harmless and will do real damage. Although I have a suspicion he was using a shared computer.

Okay, that was pretty funny, but so is all the "lololol anyone who doesn't know what 127.0.0.1 refers to is stupid lol" talk. (Read: I didn't know what it was before reading this thread)
