127.0.0.1 is a loopback address pointing to localhost - your machine , in fact . Every machine refers to itself as 127.0.0.1 .

Hmm, can you format C:\ drive in windows without them giving you a warning? Is it even possible from windows while they are running? I doubt it. So, when the guy said he was at 20% of fromatting drive C:\, he wasn't talking about his own hard disc.

With win9x, you can format c:\ while from windows. I know this because I've done it.
