Mrs Tubes has a point, something is severely ****ed up with society if 13 year olds are getting pregnant in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, the abortion issue is cut and dry: let her have one.

Yes. And she went before a judge to get around it, but state law doesn't allow that option for wards of the state. So in the name of protecting children, my state will force a child to become a mother.

She was not impregnated by her own father, btw. Her parents rights were terminated years ago. She does, however, have a habit of running away, and had escaped from foster care for about a month last year, at which time she got pregnant.

She's currently in her 2nd trimester. I say if she's forced to carry it to term, she should leave it at the State Legislature.

If anyone here wants to get intot he deepest of this problem, it would be wtf is wrong with the foster system that this child keeps running away and able to do so. If thats the case something else should have been done before this kid got knocked up.. Adults once again have failed this kid. You guys got governers and who else knows deciding on the wrong issues here. The fact isnt whether she should have an abortion but rather how did this happen to begin with.... and what can be done to not let it happen again.

If your kids were determined to run away, short of chaining them down, what could you do?

Well to honest of it were me a whole hell of a lot more then actually letting them run away gain and again.. after the first time there wouldnt be a second i can guarantee it. I love my kids but if she did this once id make sure it didnt happen again even if i have to chain her down.

The state law in Florida is that all that the state must move to block any abortions or euthenasia in all cases for wards of the court. The law will get tossed out by the higher courts but for now conservatives have blocked a portion of the population for excersizing their legal rights.

Somebody has to stand up for the right for society to dictate what women can/cannot do in regards to issues of their own well-being.

I for one dont need my husband telling me what i can and cant do with my body. I dont need his permission to live, breathe or move. Bringing another person in such as cheating is only grounds for divorce not my husband deciding that i can walk out side or seek medical advice. Course id never cheat on my husband so that doesnt apply here.

You are right im not like alot of women but i cant imigaine anyone thast would want to be treated like a freaking piece of meat. oh and by the way if women need mens permission to have their tubes tied why is that men dont need wifes permission to have a vasectomy?

The case was in the Florida Supreme Court instead of the US Supreme Court, as stated in the article, so I did mistake which court made the ruling. I realize that when you can't argue the merits of a case or justify such terrible and obviously illegal laws that you instead try to find any little error and make a stink about that instead of dealing with the issue at hand. You do this little tactic so often that I have come to expect it from you instead of any sort of reasonable or intelligent discussion on the thread's topic.
