Also, even if Delay controlls the House, his corruption is personal. The Dems object to Delay because he in fact controls the House in a very effective way.

His dirty money gets around the Republican Party. See the Texas lege. His control is through corruption.

Once in a while I feel really anrgy with the Republican party and feel like defecting. Fortunatley, there are people like Howard Dean around to remind me about the type of people running the Democratic party.

Oh, and and anybody who doubts the utter corruption of the democratic party(or of politicians in general in this country) is sadly mistaken...

If Ned showed similar outrage when GOP talking heards spewed such things about the DP, we might think his outrage was legitimate.

And anybody who thinks they can excuse their Republican candidates embarassing behavior by rationalizing that "Democrats do it too!" is just sad.

          Expect more from your party.

OK, Che, refer me to a Republican leader, not Coulter, who called Democrats (and not specific Democrats) evil, corrupt and/or braindead.

Actually they do, but the ones who like it are solidly GOP and for some reason, moderates just ignore it.

Huh? It's the left that gets off on this on this anti-GOP hatred. People like Dean and many in the democratic base seem to have no conception of the idea that two well meaning and good people could come up with very different ideas.

If well meaning and good people ran the GOP, that would be one thing.

Anyway, my point was, for some reason, Democratic froathing upsets the middle far more than GOP froathing. In addition, lots of folks on the right point to people like Dean claiming that's the reason Dem's do so poorly, but act like their own people haven't acted worse for much longer.

This whole "mean-spiritedness of politics" tripe that people like Thomas Brooks trotted out last summer, as if this were somehow a new phenomenon. Dems and Rpe have always demonized each other, but at the end of the day, they could work together. For the past decade or so, though, the GOP has acted like it would be contaminated by being in the same room with the DP. When the DP rhetorically acts like the GOP, everyone gets all crazy.

Dean in his insults refer to "Republicans", not the Republican leadership.

Well, that's definately a mistake. Course, right now he's gotta raise the moral of the Party base, which has suffered a serious defeat. You don't raise moral by trying to surrender.

"Republicans are 'Evil,' 'Corrupt' and 'Brain-Dead'" sounds like a valid summary of the average Republican to me.

Seriously, the policies of the Republican party tend to be very extremist and bad for the long term health of the country plus the Republican party certainly is the biggest source of curroption in the country today. Even if we go back 30-40 years and review various old cases of Democrats acting curroptly you still have Nixon's absolute crimes against the constitution, Iran-Contra, the Banking Scandal, Enron and a bunch of other big, big scandals tied to Republicans. One party is bad and the other is far worse so I choose the lesser of two evils.
