  • The Past 24 Hours

Got off work yesterday around 4pm... Went to the store to grab some beer, then to this Italian deli to get some ravioli, and then by blockbuster to get some movies.

The beer; Budweiser Select, it ain't "manly" but it's low carb and I like it.

The Ravioli; home made, uncook, beef. They make cheese, lobster, chicken, and a specialty; usually a TexMex which is really a spicy meat. I got the meat because that is what wifey likes.

The Movies; Elektra - ok for the most part, though I could watch Jennifer Gardner do nothing for 90 minutes... Flight of the Phoenix - the first hour is good, the last hour sucks... Taxi - haven't watched it yet.

Got home, noticed that Buddy (my dog) was acting strange. Wifey caught her scratching her but, and revealed an Anal Absest, a big, swollen, *****, blood spewing soar on her arse. It wasn't there the day before as I caught her doing the same thing and checked. Anyway, we rush to the Vets, he says it needs to be operated on and wifey (who is pretty much a vet agrees).

    Today

We drop her off for the surgey... GO to breakfast, then to the mall. Decide to watch Sahara; right as it is starting the Vet calls says Buddy can go home and that they close in 90 minutes! We leave the movie without even seeing the opening credits, get a refund, and go and get BUddy.

She now has two bloody tubes sticking out of her butt, is drugged and sleeping soundingly. However, the cost was $1200, and we still ain't done.

Moral of the story; take care of your colon or it can make for a very shiety and expensive week end.

How has your last 24 hours been?

$1200 for a dog... Sorry Japher, I'd have put it down. My last 24 have been pretty boring by comparison.

So, Sahara is out... Did the wife like it?

Dog are sometimes like a member of the family though.

Cats - you're sometimes a member of THEIR family. More like their pet.

It was something that gaurenteed her survival.

If it was something that still had a 50/50 chance of her living or would reduce her quality of life I would of put her down.

              Still

I am going to watch Taxi, back in 90 minutes or so...

You don't clean the cat box? Very similar to shovelling.

                    Last 24 hours...

Around 6:00 PM last night I was making dinner for my self.

After that, I went down to Barnes&Noble, to use the various study books to study for the Foreign Service Written Exam, which I was taking the next day. The FSWE is the test you take to be a foreign service officer(Diplomat with the State Dept.)

At 10 PM, I left Barnes&Noble, and went to the grocery store to buy the food I would have the morning of the test and during the break in the test, and afterwards returned to my apartment

When I got back to my apartment, I realized I couldn't find my admission ticket that I had printed out, and I didn't have a #2 pencils. I drove down to campus computer lab to print out a new admission ticket, then to a convience store to buy some pencils and pens.

I got back to my apartment, got some more stuff ready for the next day, and went to bed at Midnight

I got up at 5:45 AM Saturday Morning, ate breakfeast, gathered my stuff, and went over to Duquesne University where the test was being administered. The test started at 8 AM, and I got done around 1:30

I then got some lunch, took a nap since I was exhausted, and now I am waiting around as my roomate's girlfriend is cooking a big porkchop dinner for all of us at this apartment and some of our friends.

Not exactly the most exciting today, but if I ended up getting the poisition with the Department of State, it'd be really awesome.

There's a poor family down the block from us in the Phils, really nice parents, good kids...the littleist girl is so cute! Anyway, the eldest boy, Mario, is maybe 18. Dolores and I are putting him, and only him, through college so he can help his parents support the rest. We will then start helping family in Mabini go to college...lots of family. The next oldest, a girl, won't be going to college, has no future, etc...Anyway, it costs us $30 a month for 3 years to send Mario. Having not been able to swing college for myself, how many kids could we have educated for the cost of Japher's dogs ass?

Most of my life I'd have fixed the dog. The Philippines changes everything.

24hrs ago I was phoning the police because there were 30+ drunken people fighting outside the front of my house (amongst others), and trying to kick the door down.

Other than that its been rather uneventful.

I would probably spend $1200 on my dog (unless she was near the end of her normal lifespan). I'd probably put the limit at $2000.

You didn't explain why the dog has this problem with her but? What caused it? I would like to avoid similar problems with my dog.

Tuberski, Coke, my cat, is house trained. Never bitten anyone, never scratched me. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old, from a shelter. He was the last of his litter to be taken.
