      If IDE was known to lose some bitstreams from a CD, when you save any file to your disk you'd also lose random bits, corrupting the file...

        anyone know where I can get dirt cheap laptops?

        I don't need it to run modern games. Just games about 5 or 6 years old.

          There are two 6600GT's, so that's a big chunk right there.
          And yet the box is cheap at ~£1300... if I were to build a similar box myself w/peripherals it would cost a lot more.
