Imagine your prospective political leader wearing a Scoutmaster's hat. If it looks right on him, he's the wrong man for the job.

      It is 100% effective.

Or you could use the When Harry Met Sally test. You have to imagine a women screaming "Ooooohhh [the name]!! Ride me big, [the name]!!!

If it doesn't sound right, then dump the name.

that's a good test, but what if the kid ends up gay?

                just don't give him a girl's name.

I always wonder why people give boys girls names. I just heard on the news of a guy named tracy. Jamie is too close to a girls name as well.

Naw, the dumbest name of all is the girls name Madison. It's dumb for two reasons:

                  1. It's from a movie: Splash. Before Splash came out, Madison was not a girls name. (In the movie, Darryl Hannah takes the name of Madison because she's standing on Madison Ave.)

                  2. It means Son of a soldier.

                    McGrady?

But I agree with you, giving boys a name that's typical a girl's name is cruel.

Also, names like "LaDainian", "LeCharles" et cetera are horrible.

                          Cool, 7th kid? Wow..

this is a sign. When I played hockey, my number was 7, always. To this date, when I have to pick a number, I always pick 7... so name him Pekka.
