It sounds like Sciatica . I have it right now. It hurts on my lower back/upper butt if I sit to long, especially driving.

Go see a chiropractor. He should give you stretches to help relieve tension.

There are plenty of excercises you can do to stretch and strengthen those muscles. You should look into pilates.

I don´t think it´s Sciatica. It only hurts in my buttocks, above the caudal vertebrae. The back pain I´ve had for years, along with shoulders, neck and right wrist. But that´s computer related...
