A BUI is not a severe as a DUI but it will influence the sentence if you get a DUI with a BUI on your record.
bull****. The purpose of a DUI is because you are driving a dangerous weapon (automobile). You can't hurt anyone on a bike.

Just the other day while watching Maximum Exposure. A guy was drunk riding a lawmower down the street. The cops didn't arrest him because he posed no threat to other vehicles or pedestrians.

The easy way to avoid that is not carry your drivers license with you when you ride you bike . You aren't required by law to carry id with you.

      On contrarier... or something

      you are wrong

bikes are required, by law to be registered, and ID is required.

it just ain't inforced too often. However, in Davis, it is.

crazy Californians. We don't have such laws in my state. Many of our illegal aliens ride bicycles. I doubt they carry ID's.

and I was never required to have an id when I was a kid riding my dirt bicycle to school. I never had an id when I was a kid.

occassionally we have road rage conditions in my city between motorists and bicyclists. It ends up with the bicyclist being run over. People in my city are very hostile to bicyclists.

Your acceleration and top speed on a bike are pathetic, what you hogging the road for?

Get in the gutter/cycle lane and let me get to work on time

Cyclists worry me as many seem to have little or no balance and could be oh so easily mashed by my car, especially if I took a careless left hand turn Think of the touchup job I'd have to do after that.

When cyclists start to pay the costs for the roads in this country, they can expect equal rights on the road.

In this town it's dangerous to bike around, I can't keep track of how many times I was close to being hit by a car without it being my fault...

One time as I was at an intersection crossing it on the left side* I noticed this guy who got angry about me crossing it there (forcing him to stop), he yelled out of the window in a not so pleasant tone.
A few minutes later I saw him again, even as he was headed in the other direction he turned around and drove onto the road I went on (just so he could yell even more about me "breaking the law"), but what did he do? He drove along the left side of the road so he could "talk" to me thereby breaking the law

*because there where no bike-lanes on the right side and the law (in DK at least... don't know anywhere else) says I'm allowed to cross the intersection on the left side ("special made" intersection, where this is allowed)
This space is empty... or is it?

I can't stand bicyclists and how they slow down traffic so much. The worst is when you are on a two-lane mountain road, you have a stupid cyclist ahead of you going so slowly, and the road is so windy that isn't safe to pass them using the left-hand lane. ARGH!

In my city if you drive on the sidewalks you can get a fine.

Portland is an extremely bicycle-friendly town, so I have to deal with cyclists all the time when driving. For the most part, they're fine, but you get the occasional ones that irritate the hell out of you. Hey, buddy, if you insist on carting your fat ass around at turtlesque speeds during rush hour, at least have the courtesy to stay away from major traffic arteries, okay?

In Wahsington maybe, but most states require that bicycles, except when turning left, be ridden "next to the curb or edge of the pavement".

Talk about bull****. How could you think you can't get hurt by a bike?

Okay, let's put you in the middle of the street and have a 185-pound guy on a bike hit you full-on while he's going 20 mph. We'll see how well you do.

We just had an incident a few weeks ago where a woman was hospitalized with serious injuries when she was hit by a bicycle while she was jaywalking. It's prompted the cops to start ticketing jaywalkers again downtown.
