If hockey was being played this year, I wouldnt even think twice about my trip plans. I would build my trip around a late season Flyers vs. Leafs game in Toronto..

      Very good.

Now, say it like you mean it.

If I want to watch a whale, I dont need to go to Dildo. I can just go across the Delaware river to Trenton.

Toronto is a boring, flat, ugly grid. The only noteworthy thing that ever happened here was when the Americans burned it to the ground during 1812.

Anyone game for some historical "re-enactments"?

Edit: But seriously, for the love of god, stay away from the T-dot. (And that ridiculous nickname alone is enough to warrant a nuking)

BFG: Ignore these other Canadians. They get confused when they go to a real city like Toronto.

Toronto's the only Canadian city with culture, important museums like the Hockey Hall of Fame, theatre, great clubs, MLB, incredible food and the most multicultural city in the world.

Montreal and Quebec City are worth one day each. Ottawa isn't worth a drive through.

Toronto does have awsome resteraunts, but the food does tend to be on the greasy side, regardless of where you go. Maybe that's just a big city thing, though.

Torontonians have to believe it Oncle. They would live in absolute despair otherwise.

To be fair (and since I do live here), it's not like Toronto is hell on Earth. It's a decent city to live in and has many good big city features. To me, it's just that it's no different from any other big cities, and really has no defining characteristics (other than being the centre of Canadian business). Plus the constant self aggrandizement is annoying. The self comparisons to New York (when really, it's maybe 3/4 the city Chicago is, if that) are pitiful. If there was just more acceptance of the fact that it's a rather mundane big city, it would make it better.

Yeah, that title is reserved for Detroit.

Buffalo makes a decent case too, but I'd have to give the nod to Detroit. I was there last summer and holy hell, talk about flight to the suburbs and complete inner city decay.

Oh, please. Ottawa is the only place worth going in Ontario... or west of Montreal for that matter.

Ottawa actually has character, Toronto is just a wannabe American city.

And sure, Toronto has alot of immigrants... but so does Miami. You know what else those two cities have in common? They are both hell holes.

Border cities just suck - on both sides of the border.
