There was an interesting quote from one of Judge Greer's opinions that I would just like to point out. He said that there was no dispute that Terri could not swallow "sufficiently" to feed herself. This seems to acknowledge that Terry can swallow to some degree, a act that the all the doctors stated was only possible at all if one were conscious.

It may be wrong, but it's human. These people have been slandering Mike for years, as well as hurting his wife by prolonging her existence against her expressed will. If I was him, I'd hate them. They'd also probably hate me, and I'd be afraid they'd start some **** in the room instead of it being peaceful.

I wonder if anyone offered all those pro-life protesters "living will" documents they could sign specifically stating that they should be kept alive under *all* circumstances, even if it means being severely brain-damaged and dependent on machinery for continued life for, say, 15 or 20 years on the faint, faint hope that maybe, just maybe, scientists will find a way to regenerate brain tissue and restore lost memories, personality and so on.

WRT the allegations of M. Schiavo keeping the family away from Terri at the time of her death, I find that somewhat odd since they've been visiting her throughout the 13-day period. Why would he deny them now, when he hasn't in the time leading up to her death?

The law doesn't differentiate between people with no cerebral cortex and those with, except to appoint guardians. AFAIC, people with no CC are effectively dead.

I hardly see stating my opinon slander. The only thing i ever said is that he might be motivated by a life insurance policy. If thats slander then i am guilty as charged. Just for the record I hardly consider my self a right to lifer I only thought it was inhumane to starve somebody to death.

But you did it repeatedly even when shown there was no profit motive. I'm not putting you in the same catagory as Ned and Drake, but you questioned Schiavo's motives but never questioned the Schindler's. In any event, the Schindler's didn't get anything close to the slandering Schiavo got, except by me, and I always stated that I was making things up.
