That's why I'm talking about the American academic literature I got to use in my actually scientific university (in Stuttgart) The US produced the best texts, but also the most moronic and ideologic ones. Make that "unintelligibility" then. Some German texts are blatantly unreadable because of page-long sentences, and because of atrioucious, longer-than-your-arm adjectives. And German is a language where you have to read the whole fricking setence before understanding it!

Except that I never said it was an "example of AA," and said it was just a sign of things heading in that direction. You said you thought it would be a "very, very long time" before such things happen. The link was just to show it might not be quite so far off.

Given that Phd's in private business probably earn 5-10 times what professors make, the people in universities either are not good enough to work in private industry, or they are handicapped in some other way.
