There still is no evidence that the memo's forged.
There's no reason why Martinez couldn't have been in some way the genesis for the talking points memo. The GOP Florida Senator's office passes it to Frist. Who knows.

There's no evidence that it's real, either. The problem here is that ABC was all too eager to bash Republicans with a document they can't prove the authenticity of. I guess you support sloppy journalism when it benefits your side, though...

Given Delay's past, I am going to pre-suppose that anything he denies that, without denial, would be harmful to him, is in fact correct.
DeLay wasn't the only one to disavow it.
I admit to the possibility of overlooking parts of the original article, but I seem to remember Delay being the only person who has denied it. And I refer you to GePap's post about the credibility of the weekly standard, just for kicks (ie, the traditional "let's insult your source" game).

So have you picked one yet Drake? Are the repugs imbeciles or liars?

This has nothing to do with the Rather memo. Or analysis. It's just a bunch of quotes and links. DailyKos is a Democratic community that has thousands of people, some competent some not. You have to discriminate between the people there. Just like in Apolyton.
In the article they talked about how one of the suspicious things about the memo is that many of the talking points are taken word for word from the website of the Traditional Values Coalition. Thanks you (and Kos) for providing some supporting evidence.
Ok, so conservatives and conservative orgs have the same talking points, including one with identical language. This is supposed to be evidence that the memo was a forgery.
Is this supposed to be a parody of an argument?
I'm talking about Kos himself. He had an essay which was totally blown out of the water with the Rathergate stuff. Sure, there may be useful sources of info off of there.

This is the crux of your case, and where it falters. You assume as fact two very outrageous things.
First, you assume that the document is false unless proven real. Your right-wing blogs are the ones who object to it, the burden of proof is on you.
Second, you assume a liberal bias at ABC. I admit that, to a veteran watcher of Fox news, ABC, CNN, CBS, and most other news mediums may seem biased, but that's because Fox is demonstratably biased. The absence of bias could be mistaken to one who has never experienced it before.

And I have to go be productive. Drake, believe whatever makes you happy.

No, I hope that a major new organization would not run with a story unless they can prove that their evidence is real. The burden of proof is on them.

You've watched Fox News more in the past year than I have, I guarantee you, so save your aspersions for someone else...
Drake, believe whatever makes you happy.
Believe me, the fact that the mainstream American media doesn't engage in even rudimentary fact checking when a story appeals to their political bias doesn't make me happy in the least.

Yes of course the poor widdle Republicans being oppressed by the commie media again.

This is cute coming from you. Why don't you post another WSJ Opinion piece to complete the thread?
It does seem suspicious that the Ted Bundy thing has been distributed all around right-wing circles. I don't know if they got it from the memo or not. Nor do I care. Of course DeLay/Frist/Shrub acted in terms of political considerations, I don't need a damn memo to tell me that.

Not really. I googled the situation and DK was the first to come up about this.
But I actually try to verify what they say in a real source. Not the Weekly Standard.
