In a way I thought it'd be cool to have Lieberman as president, even if he is a Democrat. It seems most American Jews are? By the way, I havve heard people say they didn't think it would happen, because he's Jewish. But Kissinger came fairly close, didn't he? Or whichever one it was... (before my time)

You know if we had just given them New Jersey instead of Palestine, we wouldn't have alot of the problems that go on nowadays.

I am not aware of any massive flux of Jews leaving Europe for the US since.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, there was an influx of Jews into the US from Eastern Europe.

These are the kinds of articles that get published here in the States...

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
