Anyone else here really happy to live on the east coast of America?

Seriously though, I don't know enough about the thought processes of President Whack-Nut (either one, theirs or ours) to know how worried I should be by this.

The Chinese should offer to supply their own troops to Kim thus guarenteeing his safety. Then once he's lulled into a sense of security they seize the military bases, the nuclear facilities and the main government offices. They should then remove him and his nukes and finally give the country over to whomever is in the line of succession and is also sane.

Ironically, the US would go nuts and scream Chinese empire building

No, we'd probably breath a sigh of relief.

While I can't speak for Bush, obviously, for my part I'd just be glad that the area was under the control of rational totalitarian butchers for a change. With Kimmy in charge you never know what kind of wacky stuff is going to happen next.

But I don't know, China's got enough technologically backwards, corrupt mudholes to manage as it is, without taking care of NK. They might find it easier to just randomly kill officials and withdraw with the nukes when the gov't collapses. Kinda like we planned to do with Iraq, only NK has actual nukes to take and China, not being especially concerned with its human rights image, could actually pull it off.

Yeah the only times I really see Chinese characters is on calendars for days of the week etc. and on menus for small, medium and large. Besides that there's virtually no hanja (what you'd call kanji).

Yeah, Hanja tends to appear more on legal/government/archival/academic documents. If it appears elsewhere, it'll be really simple things, like "fire" and "mountain" and what not.

Right, all things that are of very little use to me. Its nice not to have to deal with them.

They are full of bluster as usual. Pass the resolution and watch them back down because China just doesn't want a war to disrupt trade with the west. North Korea is China's *****.

Mostly they don't, of just on documents when people are trying really really hard to look smart.
