Nah, I am not offended, or something. I just think it's stupid.

Aggie is one of those crazy people in humanities academia who hate their own ethnicity. Probably thinks he's Maori, and **** (think Ward Churchill)

CNN reports that Nichols is now in custody. Thank God it's over!

She shouldn't of had a gun and he should have been cuffed, Georgia should change their law.

They were about to put the cuffs on when he pulled the stunt (he was changing from jail clothes to street clothes).

I resent that. I hate everyone equally.

Glad they have him in custody, hopefully nobody was killed in the process. I expected him to try go down in a blaze of glory.

Poor CNN. Now they'll have to go back to Michael Jackson 24/7.

Well, at least they got the guy. Let the baying for blood begin.

Apparently when he was surrounded, he surrended peacefully. Though he'll go down soon enough. There is no chance he avoids the death penalty. Couldn't think of a better person to give it to.

                    • Glad he's caught. Would not have liked to be in Atlanta these past few days, not that I would on a regular basis

I must say, from a distant perspective, what he nearly pulled off is fascinating. Had he done this 75 years ago, there would be songs about him today.

There must be some conflicting info going around because according to the info I've seen convicts aren't allowed to be cuffed.

They are for transport. Just not in front of the jury. What they were going to do is cuff him until he got to the courtroom and then take off the cuffs before the jury came in.

                            • I don't think it would be necessary to have cages in the courtroom, like they do in some countries.

Why do they arm court guards though? There seems to be no good reason for it. Surely a sturdy truncheon would suffice.

                              • Cause guns are a better deterrant than truncheons, and have had to be used a few times.
