For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

The photos were pretty convincing as were the dozens of other people who testified about the case. Now we have one man's word (who may or may not actually know anything) verses dozens of others and a number of photos.

thanks but I'll trust the main stream over this guy until he gives me better reasons to believe him.

I would tend to think that this story is made up, and that Saddam was found in the hole. It is certainly possible that he wasn't.

The Sgt. seems to have an agenda.

                that should be verifiable.
There were no Marines in Tikrit. I say that as someone who spent 8 months in the city. That zone was all Army.

Thanks for shooting down his credibility.

Oerdin, that was the first thing that came to my mind.

I thought that Saddam's Capture was a 100% Army op.

Link? I've seen photos of them taking Saddam out of a hole, not a house. Pictures are less of a bad liar, then what someone says.

Sudanese origin? What does this have to do with anything?

Mitchell, I assure you Saddam's spider hole wasn't an old well. I've been there. It's located on the east side of the Tigris not far from Tikrit so last March/April a few co-workers and I went there since we lived in the area. A month or so later the Army filled the thing in with concrete and capped to to prevent it becoming some sort of strange ba'athist shrine.

This guy hasn't said much that jives with what people who have been to Tikrit already know.

Either way you misread it. I'm sure it's in the power of the US military to take photographs of a faked situation.

Uh huh. Keep claiming that. Like the same people who said we never landed on the moon.
