  • the congo ... who cares...no one...

    what can be done.... ?
is this an example of how effective the UN units are....?
if so they need to be reviewed ...
and the rest of the world sits by and watches the slaughter...
but its already a democratic country.. so we won't be doing anything
everyone else in the world doesn't care either..
its apparent from the history of the country
a Belgium colony...completely abused ,used and tossed aside.

anyway this is a presentation , mostly talking and very long..
but listen to parts and skip around.. its interesting.

Alas, the world is full of conflicts no one cares about. Western Sahara is another one, Morocco invaded in 1975 after the spaniards left due to Francos death. Many of the western saharis live in refugee camps in Algeria, and have done so for nearly 30 years...

    The UN sucks...

Lack of a developed oil industry and advanced technology means that in the West, well... the deaths of millions won't affect Joe Smith on his trip to good ol' Mickey-D's. And since millions of dead are just statistics, why should he take a personal interest in it? After all, it's easy to mumble a few inanities about how tragic it is.

Mumbling those few inanities, then walking on and letting hell wash off his back like rain off a roof makes him feel better. He gets the comfort of knowing that it could never happen here. Let him.

Sooner the people there die, the better. Millions dead will lead to billions dead, and the world will still turn. There's no justice; don't bother seeking it.

Death is the only constant in this place.

actually i believe the term derives from the conflict in Sierra Leone.

Genocide is funny. If you can't laugh at things like that, the world is too miserable to live in.

Belgium, schmelgium. Let the whole world ignore it, because in the end, it won't matter.

Five billion years from now, when this globe merges with the font of life, it won't matter.

                      Why worry?

some of you guys are a bit too pessimistic, though. try and find how much truth there actually is in the cynical lines you produce...

Five billion years from now, will anybody remember there was a place called Congo? Most likely not. Hell, we don't know most stuff from just five thousand years ago.

As far as justice not being around, I have yet to see anything that renews my faith in it. Especially when things like tsunamis wipe out hundreds of families, and yet the only thing the Western media cares about is the one white kid vacationing from Sweden who's gone missing, perhaps into child slavery. After all, who cares about the thousands of slanty-eyed kids who live there?

It's easier if you don't worry. It's better for your health. All those stories about what one or two people can do... happy, filler material. In the real world, those one or two people bring hope and joy to a small, finite set of beneficiaries. Everyone else gets the shaft.

And since worrying is ultimately futile... why worry?
