I basically stopped listening to the radio or watching music TV stations, so I'm not too informed about current music. My only source now is the occasional visit to this place:

Where I find a real gem every now and then. Like Dälek's latest album Absence.
... or earlier examples are albums by Air, Soulwax, Kelis, Gomez, Kaizers Orchestra and Electric Six too (haven't heard/seen their Radio Ga Ga yet, well, except when I saw them live 1.5 years ago).

Oh, and I'm enjoying St Leo's #20 too. Thanks.

haven't heard any 2005 music yet except for System of a Down's new song Cigaro. Sounds pretty cool. But it's a short song. Looking forward to their new album.

Can't wait for Springsteen: Devils and Dust

                    supposedly similar to Tom Joad.

If only Uriah Heep would release a new album.

Yet again reality bites me in the arse

If only I hadn't been so facetious

I can't believe they are still around. They must be the biggest prats in rock.

Note to self: make sure that pathetic prog-rock band is defunct before making them butt of sarcastic remark.

After awhile you stop buying new and different types of music. Usually it's just after college. So without any knowledge on the matter I'd say that music is dead. In fact the only music that I've heard lately that is at all interesting is country and stuff in commercials. No I didn't read a word in the thread.

I still buy records... but I'm going back in time. The last new cd I bought was antics by Interpol... thoroughly disappointing. Oh and Ween's Quebec... I didn't mind that.

I hardly ever "buy" albums anymore. Once the bands I loved started putting out crappy records, I no longer buy them. Megadeth is one example.

I only buy albums from bands that are still good today (though that's debatable as you guys know I still like Metallica's new stuff ). Bands like Slayer just haven't been putting out good music. Though I did buy Diabolus in Musica. That wasn't a bad album. Just not as good as the stuff they put out in the 80's.
