The ugliest thing I've ever seen in the building they constructed at the front of Paragon Station, Hull (not been able to successfully find a picture of it). Built in the 60s on the front of a listed train station completely eliminating all view of it's front. Is due to be demolished quite soon with the development in that area of the city centre, but the sooner it is gone, the better...Speaking of Erith:

Wrong- at least in the United Kingdom, and I've seen a few eco-friendly projects in British Columbia too. In Australia, some properties have been built using a mixture of straw bale, wood and mud, all of which are more responsive to a hot climate.

well, that's just because the modern building sucks ass, not that modern ( and post modern) buildings and older ( neo-gothic, in this case? ) can't go together. Eclectic enviroments are quite a toss-up, though. some times it rules, other times... You're speechless in the worst sense of the word.
