Yeah, that's how I always thought of him too.

This is only book one, right? So there'll be more? I will see this, that's for sure. But where are all the Britishness? I have nothing against other nationalities, but I would be more happy if 1)they spoke British and 2)Ford looked more like I imagine him(British-looking, but not totally so, he is not fully used to our earthian ways you know...). Oh, and if Marvin looked more like that robot in Futurama...!

Mos Def is an inspired choice as Ford Prefect.

EDIT: As is Sam Rockwell as Zaphod.

I'll second that for Mos Def.

Having more than half the cast speak British English isn't enough for you?

The thing that looks worst to me is the robot... he looks too much like an imac or something made by toyoto.

That's the point. Why else do you think Marvin being so depressed is so amusing (well aside from the amusing aspects of depression)?

By "it" do you mean the book as a whole, or do you mean when his character was introduced?

Intro of Zaphod, right before he stole the Heart of Gold.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
