      unnecessary trouble
there is no such thing. mistakes exist in order for us to learn and evolve
      aimlessly drive or ride about
      1) how do you prove the aimlessness of a drive?
      2) "ride" as in horses?

mostly the laws were created to control gang activity.

And how effective has it been in Colorado ? Somehow I don't connect Colorado and serious gang problems.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

i think its done a good job in some ways controling things... gives cops reasons to detain and ask questions about activities .. though i think some cops use it to harrass .. but overall there has been a decline in that sort of activity... has not stopped it ..

gangs are everywhere... even in colorado...

we used to have long lines of cars downtown
friday and saturday nights.. kids honking and
sitting on cars... waving at each other drive by.
cruisin nevada ave... was a big passtime.
then came the night some young people were
shot ... just driving down the street ..
both killed... in a drive by shooting..

and another night one young man beat to death
              laying in the street downtown...

couple those with other crimes and deaths...
drugs being sold out of cars and the downtown streets
and parks being a place where everyone was afraid to
go even in the early evenings.

              downtown is quiet now...

actually this doesn't bother me too much. I read on CNN the judge only ordered the defendant to pay the hospital costs. There was no other penalty imposed for emotional distress etc. That seems fair. It was only $900. It wasn't like they got sued for millions.

Because you have to admit, the teens behaviour is suspicious. It almost sounded like the teens were planning on playing a practical joke on the person.

I would get suspicious if people were knocking on my door at 10:30 PM. Even in my city that is late.

The entire time I have been living here, the only person to knock on my door that late is the police when the house accross from me got robbed.

boann : I think that you have cured the symptoms instead of the disease and in the process amputated peoples freedom.

If there are shootings, remove the guns instead of people. If there are drugs, go for the dealers.

i am in favor of some restrictions

there are good exceptions to the law.. and they
                          allow for those..

no, i don't think teens should have total freedom
to go and come and do what ever they want to do.
if their parents were being parents then the law
would not need to be there.. but there are some
who just don't give a crap about where or what
                          their kids are doing.

I agree, but why punish those 99,9 % of parents and teens that acts sensibly ?

well the law doesn't effect them really.
those teens can come and go with parent
or with work note or just coming and going
                              from concerts and activities..
the law is for those who are looking for trouble.

There are aslo some parents that cant be home to supervise their kids cause they have to work at night. The curfews in san antonio dont allow kids up to the age of 18 out after 10;00 pm but mostly that is down town only. I guess any other part of the city i fair game.

I wonder if this real stable mental case of a woman would have done the same thing if the girls were girlscouts selling cookies at 700 am burglries and crimes can happen in the daytime too.
