  • I don't like oversized icons. Like I want icons disrupting my great desktop picture.

Of course, I say this, even though I have many icons. But I also have many games on my hardrive. And as far as I know, clicking the icon is the quickest way to get a program running.

    • Mine is usually cluttered with windows. When it's not, it looks like this. The sidebars are auto-hiding, always on top. Screen resolution is 1152x864, hence the blur.

                    • I've been ravishing a rather interesting Indian site for wallpapers lately...

My extended quick launch bar and task bar are on auto-hide, but I've made them visible for the occasion.

What is your wallpaper about, Aggie? Sapphic love?

                          • Hardly. IIRC there isn't a fragment of Sappho that's as long as that.

That is one of the two surviving accounts of Gorgias' περὶ τοῦ μὴ ὄντος, or On Not-Being.

It's a pre-platonic sophistic text I've been looking at recently.

                            • A long time ago, I had a lesson on Gorgias's On not-being. Some naive students were shivering: "Wouldn't it be awful if nothing existed?"

It's a weird piece, probably not intended to be taken seriously. I think Plato took the challenges it raises quite seriously though, since he seems to respond to it in the Theaetetus and Sophist.
