        it's weeeeaaally easy, if you don't waste your first 2k turns by realspacing a bit too far away

                I loved TW2002 back in the day!


                I also remember Operation Overkill II...that was a fun game

                  hmm I don't want to rain on the parade, but this web-based version is really slow!

                  I like telnet better... I guess I'll have to explore a bit more and see what else this version has to offer.

                    please define slow: generally how the game is played or the loading of pages?

                      The pages load at about the same speed as everything else on apolyton - not real fast, but about average. The issue is more with the reality of http being unable to match the speed of a persistent telnet connection, and with the fact that I can't use a helper

                        I don't find it slow loading at all.


                        The FAQ isn't very helpful, though... there's still alot of things that I'd like to know, like what exactly each ship component does, and how selling commodities from your planets is managed.

                          Download Helper for Blacknova Traders for free. None

                          although i havent checked it out

                          beyond that, the map page and the trade route feature is quite helpfull(you set a pair and can perform as many routes as you like with a single click)

                          like what exactly each ship component does
                          well the hull par gives you more space for trading
                          the engine/power parts make realspace travelling faster...
                          and how selling commodities from your planets is managed
                          once you're in orbit of your planet you can set it's "selling" / "not selling" mode

                            I know that too, but how is it managed after that? What prices does it sell it for?

                              A brief description on all of the components and upgrade:

                              Upgrades
                              Hull
                              Increases your total amount of cargo holds
                              Engines
                              Decreases the number of turns it takes for a realspace move, 13-5 is usually enough to get everywhere in one turn
                              Power
                              Increases the amount of energy you can store
                              Computer
                              Increases the amount of fighters you can have
                              Sensors
                              Improves you accuracy when scanning planets and ships
                              Beam Weapons
                              Adds more beam weapons to your ship
                              Armour
                              More armour
                              Cloak
                              I assume it counters the sensors
                              Torpedo launchers
                              More torpedo's can be stored on your ship
                              Shields
                              More shields

                              Equipment
                              Genesis Torpedoes
                              Creates planets
                              Space Beacons
                              Never used 'm, i think they log everyone who enters a the sector
                              Emegency Warp Device
                              I believe it warps you out of the sector when under attack while you're offline
                              Warp Editors
                              Create warp links in a sector, current max warplinks per sector is 10 htoughm you can't go over that.
                              Mine Deflectors
                              Saves you from mines when you enter a mined sector
                              Escape Pod
                              Keeps you from dying?
                              Fuel Scoop
                              In combination with some power upgrades, this could be proiftable, whenever you realspace to somewhere, depending on the distance, you'll gain some energy, which can be sold at ports.
                              Last ship seen device
