    Tweakers Rebang?

    Poll: Who wants Tweakers Anonymous rebanged (same settings except with 5000 sectors and 600 turns was my current thought)?

    I just finally got bored of sitting around and took Wittlich out and some of Thor's stuff. Aeturneus and I started with too large a head start and made the game kinda pointless. Then I was careless attacking Thor and corp 4 wins the game.

    I'm conceding to Thor's corp, and Thor and I request a rebang.

    I'd be happy to bang, say, tomorrow at noon, if people by and large would want that.

    Wittlich, Burbel, Kropotkin, Prophet, etc.?

    I'll announce ingame so anyone in the game that doesn't frequent this forum will get a vote too.

    Edit: Quick note, I won't be playing in future games on my own server. That may let me do some things to spice the games up, anyway, like play NPCs or something, which wouldn't be possible if I were playing since I'd have unfair knowledge and all that.

    Yup, I'm definitely for a rebang. I'm not totally wiped out in that game, but I might as well be.

    I dont recommend rebanging so soon since there aren't that many active players at the moment. I think you should rebang once you have had the go ahead from 3-4 active players.

      Well a noon rebang is definitely out now due to lack of response, but a rebang next weekend is highly likely if people come around and request it...

        Well, I just got back from going out of town this weekend (Memorial Day weekend and all), so I haven't logged into the game yet. So Xentropy, you got bored and took me out? Did you just take out my home sector, or did you take out all 4 of my sectors? Oh well, such is life (or should I say war)!

        Concerning a rebang, sure. I'm game. The reason why you probably haven't received very many replies on this thread is because it is a holiday weekend. Hopefully more people will reply after Monday.

          Ok, you only took my first (home) sector. Actually, I could probably recover from this theft, but you are right - let's rebang this puppy!

            Good point. I hadn't even considered that Monday is a holiday since my work schedule is such that I work holidays unless I schedule them off specifically.

            I only took out the one sector I knew about offhand without probing. Was more making a point than anything else.

            I've already tweaked the settings for a new game a bit, so I'm ready to bang and bring it online when people want it :>

                As a side note; corp 4 is my corporation! I started it. That I'm totally inept and Thor tells me what to do is besides the point. The same applies to thousand of corporations in reality.

                  heres an idea that I might incorporate into the next WotW game: no corporations. If they imbalance such small games, why not eliminate them for one game? I seem to remember that we did this before, on Firaxis, and it worked out to be a pretty interesting battle...

                    Interesting idea. I was considering limiting my rebang to partnerships (corps of 2), but even that has an opportunity for imbalance when there are only 5 or 6 active players.

                    Of course, I was also considering announcing the rebang on the EIS forums and Firaxis log, which would likely bring in quite a few new players and make it worthwhile just staying with corps of 3.

                    We'll see. Still haven't gotten a solid "go ahead and rebang" from a majority of players, so I'm not sure how to proceed. I may leave the current game running and bang a Tweakers II or something and run the two games concurrently.

                    Actually, that sounds like the way to go. I'll leave Tweakers I going until people either agree to retire it or just stop playing it. It doesn't cost me anything to have extra games running; two seconds per 24 hours of CPU time running extern isn't gonna kill me :>

                    There's some special stuff I'm waiting for TWGS .56 and .57 to bang. My "Living Galaxy" game, for example (the one with Babylon 5-based races) is on hold pending .57, because .57 is due around early August (i.e. I hope to see it by the end of October :P) and is supposed to include the gold AI alien scripting that's been promised for so long. That will allow me to make the universe run the way it should run, aliens acting the way they should, without any extra effort from me beyond writing scripts and then tweaking them later. As an example, a Shadow Planetkiller will literally be able to destroy planets, instead of just being a superstrong ship class.

                    I may go ahead and enable the .55 gold version of the Alien Traders for Tweakers II, though, just to make things a BIT more interesting. Perhaps even a unique third race (besides AT and Ferrengi) to spice things up even further.

                    So many ideas, so few players :P Oh well...

                          Yeah, that game's over. Gonna bottom out on a few more tweaks and get Tweakers rebanged this weekend.

                          Heck, I'll go ahead and make the announcement.

                          Tweakers rebanging this Friday at 5pm PDT! That sound good for everyone? I'll post a new thread with the time and edits shortly. Of course, even all the old players seem to have dropped off the face of the earth lately. Wish I could think of something to breathe new life into TW.

                              I too will be playing, but I will be out of town this weekend (will not return until Sunday evening)...so I'll be a few days late.
