Well, this is what they told me for the last couple of days...
"due to province-wide network upgrades, some high-speed customers on static ip plans may be unable to access the internet. Technicians are working on the problem with no estimated time of repair."
Finally, I get my internet back, but I've lost my old IP;s
so the new DNS settings had to percolate for a while.
That's why the server was down for so long.

My problems with my ISP have multiplied over the last few days, and now it seems likely for the server to be down till next friday. I apologize for the downtime to all of those who have been playing on War of the Worlds, and I will try to bring it back as soon as possible.

Is War o/t Worlds no more?
Well, it has been 14 Days since your last post Aeturneus...Can we assume that the War of the Worlds Game is no more?
I guess that once the server problems are solved, the game would have been deleted by that time...oh well, such is life.

although it would be silly of me to make any promises at this point, I'm keeping tradewars in the back of my mind for the time when my ISP decides to give me the service I'm paying for. I'll have a Linux dedicated server pretty soon, but I'm not sure if I can get the TW client to work on linux.
Whatever happens, thanks all for a great time and many battles in the tradewars universe.

Alright people, the War of the Worlds is back with a new and improved server with a fast raid array, much better internet connection, and stable and running 24/7 with a new method of keeping the tw server up automatically. I have updated the first post in this thread with the new game settings, which are similar in spirit to all previous WoTW games - more turns, more space, more money, than the regular apolyton game.
Enjoy, and play fair. Previous registrants in the WoTW thread are not required to register again, although it is requested that players use their board name (example: aeturneus) in order to eliminate the confusion about names that has ocassionally hampered taunting in past WoTW games.
