Totally agreed, Swissy. The high number of turns is good, because evils can spend turns looking for another SSM/T pair, the ferrengi are good because it gives the good people something else to worry about besides the evils for more positive alignment, high port regen isn't that great for evils because then you can't figure out which ones have a lot of credits in them, higher colonist regen DEFINITELY, because evils get a late start on their planets, and alien traders, more for the higher amount of sectors, OBVIOUSLY.

I would say a Universe of 5,000 sectors, 1,000 turns, a 30% or 35% port regen rate, better conditions for stealing/robbing (whatever those settings are)...

I would *like* to see photons disabled, because, to me, they render all defenses ineffective (well, maybe not all, but a lot, at least). But that's just me.

I would say Ferrengi in, Alien traders in, Cylons in. Personally, I like having alien planets to claim, it gives me something to do that doesn't hurt other players.

I also think that starting with a planet might be fun.

As much as having 60 players would be nice, I would instead plan on having around 10 full time players, maybe as low as 8, and a few folks that plan on and off (which will probably be me).

I still think that, in such a small game, corps are a bad thing -- but I will say that till I am blue in the face.

since the game isn't technically over, I think Dan is waiting for the players to announce a winner. Maybe someone should start a surrender/concession thread? If people really are convinced that the game is over then they need to say so, on behalf of their players and corps. I'm not averse to playing it a while longer though... but it will have to be done eventually.

Last game, the players declared Apolyton the winner. Not much point in asking for a rebang without actually conceding victory.

the ideal steal factor would be 4, rob factor of 20 and EVERYBODY would be evil. but a better one would be steal factor 10, and rob factor 14. then it would be easier to calculate. and starting with a planet wouldn't be that great, 'cause you can't choose where ya put it. and the more AI things the better.

Well, I should be on the list to surrender the game, but, for some reason, I'm not sure... Even if SA now has over half of the planets that Apolyton created under their control, and MarkG doesn't seem to want to log in again...

            What does everyone else think?

Well, since every planet I create is a flub(i have a volcanic, glacial and vaporous.), i SHOULD give up, but I'm going to keep on moving.

Since many of us don't know what those rob/steal factors do, we can't say what ratio we want them to be. Could somebody else explain?

Many players are clamoring for a bigger universe. All right, so how many sectors have you mapped out? Do you know where everything is?

I also think port regen rate at 30%+ is too high. 20% tops. If I have been finding unused ports this late in the game, I don't see any point with bumping the regen rate up that high. Players are just too lazy to look, that's all.

I agree with increasing Terra colonist regen rate though. That doesn't hurt anybody

well, I have 70% of the punyverse mapped now. Know where YOU are if that's what you're wondering!

The steal factor is what ya divide your experience by to figure out how many holds ya can steal, and the rob factor is what ya multiply your experience by to figure out how many credits you can steal.
