    Sorry Chris, that was hard.

bomba has two meanings: pump and bomb
these braggers are the Bonny troops

    Thus:

With the bombs launched by the French, the girls in Cadiz comb their hair.

Cadiz was the only city in Spain that never fell under Bonny.

If only JB had done a Peninsular War Scn...

            OK, some more hints...

            microondas is a kitchen appliance

            cocinar is a kitchen-related verb

vestido is a dress, not a house (house is casa)

Hey Kyller, welcome to the Spanish Forum. It's good to see new faces around here. Hopefully your stay among us is a long one Where do you post from exactly? (for the location FAQ).

Where are you from? Is it possible you're an American with such a proficiency in Spanish?

              Argentine?

Actually, I'm a high school graduate (just graduated yesterday), and I've taken 4 years of Spanish in school. I just seem to have a knack for picking up Spanish. I haven't visited any Spanish-speaking countries so far in my life, but that is something that I would like to do. I was born and raised here in Montana, and that's where I plan to go to college, where I hope to study engineering, as well as continue in Spanish.

                  I see. I'm impressed.
I'd need a town name for the FAQ

Well, I live in Missoula right now (western Montana) and next week I'm moving to Hamilton (about 50 miles south) and then in the fall I'll be going to Montana State University, in Bozeman (about 150 miles east). So I'll be on the move quite a bit here.

As per Waku's suggestion (sort of ) I am resurrecting this thread.

BTW Chris, looking at the last post on this thread (cuando Almeria era Almeria...) I can see you did not read the verbose explantions that I wrote for the wonders of Al-Andalus...

(Now the right thing for you to answer here would be 'no me toques los cojones, tronco')

First sentence you mean? Well, Cadiz always was something. Let's look if not at this list of egregious Gaditanos: Celestino Mutis, Alvarez Mendizabal, Castelar, Manuel de Falla, Kiko Narvaez, La Pepa, Manuel Palma, Rocio Jurado, Ismael Gran Hermano...

Finally one I know, "No me toques los cojones con la Peninsular War, Waku ", or "Don't bust my balls about the Peninsular war scenario, Waku".

Your answer is more interesting, Jay Bee, and If it's what I think it is, I will be quite pleased.
