The year of our lord, 1671. My family has grown again, as a beautiful daughter was given unto us by god, and in this, we are eternally grateful. We have named her Marilyn, after my beloved mother. All is happy in England, as there is much news.
Our king, in his infinate wisdom, has made peace with the Dutch, and we hope for prosperity with our protestant brothers.
The other news is we are making peace with France! We have agreed to give back to the French both Le Mans and Cherbourg, as it was really Spain that goaded us into war.
We hope that this will lead to a new era of peace for the people of the world, as we have found that the French minister is a friendly and reasonable man.
