Modon has fallen to the forces of the Sultan! All of Greece is now in the hands of the Porte. Venetian galleys have been spotted off the north coast of Crete as Turkish fleet units gather in those waters for the inevitable siege of Candia.

A scouting fleet is currently exploring the coastline outside Málaga. Our mighty knights could disembark anytime now, but this Caravel fleet is but a small preview of what is to come. No more will be there heathens in Spanish ground.

After a sharp sea-fight, Turkish galleys vanquished similar Genoese ships in the waters north of Crete. The Italian ships were carrying troops, perhaps to sally against the forces of the Porte laying siege to Candia. More ships are daily joining the Turkish fleets south of Greece while the forges ring in Hungary. Rumors tell of great activity along the river Danube, both upstream and down. Turkish ghazis continue to raid in Wallachia and have succeeded in destroying a mining complex in lower Austria.

HRH Charles annouces news both good and bad. Firstly our brave Arquebusers and Heavy horse have dispatched the marauders who pretend to be an army, the Turkish Calvery. "Many of our brave fighters died to destroy them but we have killed them true" his Majesty has said. The sad news is that despite all our diplomatic efforts, the French refuse to have peace with our empire. "We will take no offensive action against the French, and will only fight to protect ourselves" our Majesty has said. In other Imperial news, the German merchants show their good faith with France by establishing new trade routes with them. We will sell the finest grade of weapons, made in Mainz, to the people of LaRochelle, and we will sell fine leather goods made in Vienna to the good people of Mulhouse. We have also contracted new trade routes with our great friends, the English! A trade ship arrived in London, with the highest grade of weapons yet made by the good people of Kohlberg, and the mines of Lubek will now provide fine grade Lead to London, and to the good people of Britain, our neihbors to the west. Long live the Hapsburgs! By order, HRH Charles, Holy Roman Emperor.<>File sent to Fiera(Spain). Henrik, I won't attack you if you don't attack me.

After a short siege, our troops have launched, at the cry of "Santiago y España", a brave assault against the fortress city of Málaga, seizing it after just a few hours. The Granadian garrison has been executed after having refused to surrender the citadel. The main body of our sea transported forces is yet to disembark on heathen's land. Our victory shall be complete.
Also, one of our Galeasses has bombarded the fields near Tunis, as a sign of the punishment that is yet to come to the infidel dogs.
Oh, and the King of France has kindly agreed to present us with a 75 gold tribute. Thanks, Henrik.

Firstminister Henri of th french report the following:
All is proceding acording to plans except for one thing, an Imperial trader outside Mulhouse today first threatened our Royal Majesty and tried to get him to pay 500 gold to the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation and then when the king refused this proposal this trader declared war on the mighty kingdom of France, is a major european war going to start just becouse of a traders (or was he an inflitrator?) whim?
France holds out its hand and offers peace, the Emperor would be wise to accept it. Europe holds its breath as the two mightiest empires seem to be gearing up for war, will the diplomatic crisis be solved, or will there be a pan-european war?
(why do these declarations allways hit me I dont think the habsburgs likes me very much )

Negotiations has been undertaken whit the imperials but the emperor will only agree to peace if he is paid 600 gold in tribute, this was found unacceptable in France but as the mighty kingdom of France do not want a war, they will not attack the imperials.
(Keep in mind that you wont get as much money for trading during a "war")
Spain has paid 25 gold to the royal coffers of France and an official apology has been received from the spanish ambassador, wheter he truly speaks for the spanish government or not remains to be seen.
Spain is obviously not aware of the great strength of France, well if they continue on they soon will be, painfully aware...
Many of the merchant accommodations that was being issued years ago are now finished and caravans from cities whit merchants are now being prepared, soon the world will be filled of French traders as the kingdom expands..

Several trade routes have been established during these past few turns, most recently a shipment of Damascus swords reached the sheltered harbor of Messina, where the southern Italian merchants, oppressed by their Aragonese masters, were only too happy to offer prompt payment, demanding more of these exquisite weapons. The ranks of the Janizzaries in Hungary are swelling as new troops join the armies now isolating Pressburg. After a surprise attack by units of the Turkish fleet, Candia was seized by troops waiting just outside the fortress. As Greece before it, Crete has now fallen to the Porte. The citdel was surprised and the fortifications have been taken intact. Only the Knights of St. John on the forlorn island of Rhodes remain defiant.
Their time will come.

HRH Charles annouces yet more good news! The French ambassador brought forth a treaty of peace, which his Majesty was greatful to accept, and the French also provided 200 pieces of gold, to support our war agaist the hated Turks! "This permanet peace treaty is a boon to all Christian nations" his Majesty said. His Majesty is also pleased to annouce yet more victories over the marrauding Turkish calvery. Our Arquebusers delt them yet annother defeat on the banks of the Danube, and the siege of Pressburg has been broken! In other Imperial news, our mercahants continue to look for new markets for our trade goods, and the pursuit of knowledge has increased. Long live the Hapsburgs! By order, HRH Charles, Holy Roman Emperor.<>file sent to Fiera(Spain).

The expeditionary force outside Tunis launched a rash attack that ended up with the seizing of the city. My brave men have a great morale now, for it's clear that they have nothing to fear from the weak and coward Berberian guards.
The great fleet near the Gibraltar strait is heading now towards Granada. Our galleons encountered the puny opposition of a Berberian Galliot fleet. A pair of cannon shoots were enough to sink them. Now Granada will face the might of our our troops.
