9 people, by my count, plus one mod. I intended a permanent switch, switching every 5 turns would be awkward. Let's get started on setting this up, we've got enough people.
"Bother," said Pooh, "Eeyore, ready two photon torpedoes and lock
phasers on the Heffalump. Piglet, meet me in transporter room
three. Christopher Robin, you have the bridge."

That is a total of eight players, seven with a mod. If we can get two more players, I'd be really happy. If I were to mod, I'd play a nation, and do basic orders for the NPC's. What I think would be a good idea is if I mod, I can take appleciders through all of the steps that I am doing, and he can help by making the map as well. Sound good?

Damn cross-posting. I missed two people, which would make it nine, as appleciders said. What about my suggestion about the updates/mod, appleciders?

Fine by me. Does this leave me as being the mod eventually, or just being able to for another NES? I'm fine with either, don't feel pressured.

How about we play it by ear?

I think it all sounds fabulous. Nine people, two mods (sort of). We have person who we are taking a rain check on, really nine people, and one ghost or something.

Does anybody know why Tass hasn't jumped on board?

Are we going with my idea of location, the one with Europe, and the Mediterranean, right after the fall of Rome?

What age/area are we putting the NES in? How about after this NES ends, we do a modern one, let's say something like 2120?

Personally, I'd rather do something historic, but I'd be up for that on some level, at least.

Sure, that'd be fun, but only w/ a world map.

Let's not get off trac though. I obviously like my idea, but nobody else has really added their 2 cents.

He doesn't play NES any more, but I have no clue why. He just ignores me when I ask him. And he doesn't like Ancient NES either.

Ahh, I will miss his conniving and backstabbing nature.

Back to the map and era, though, if you want to get creative, and less historic, you could do something like Pangea, with cavemen, and dinosaurs. Or you could advance the era, but keep the tectonic plates intact. I think being entirely landlocked would be jsut a tad bit boring though.

                            Do we have a decision?

I guess we should officially vote or something.
I, bipolarbear, being of sound (and sexy) body and mind (my brain has a sexy a$$) hereby cast my vote toward a NES in the sscenario in which:

The area in which the game is played is a combination of Europe and the Mediterranean areas.

The era is one which occurs soon after the fall of the Roman empire.

Appleciders hereby votes for a European\Mediterranean map, maybe a little bit of the Near East, set just after the fall of Rome.
I also vote for Bipolarbear or Lord Nuclear as mod, until such time as I can take over, although I'm flexible on this.

I also put forth the new informtion that circa 400-450 AD, Iberia was controlled by the Visigoths, North Africa by the Vandals, Italy by the Ostrogoths, the Balkans by the Avars, and France by the Franks, imagine that... This is also the period of the semimythical King Arthur, and the Eastern Roman Empire, otherwise known as the Byzantines, controlled Turkey and some of the middle East. The Huns came in from the Steppes of Russia right in this time period too, we could have them. Persia was still out there too, to my knowledge, but I have no evidence for that. As for NPC tribes, the Vikings were out there, definately being a pain in the ass, and I'm sure I can dig up more if we need to.

I, bipolarbear, submit that while I am of sound and sexy mind and body, I am sound, but not sexy enough for the job of modding unless it is absolutely necessary.
