This is an Unmoderated NES. There will be periodic updates of the map made by myself and periodic updates of the first post which are less frequent.
What you should do when selecting a nation is to copy their stats into your post and upgrade them as you work on your nation. For instance if you want to spend today upsizing your army tomorrow you can post your own stat update. I would reccomend posting such updates regularly to keep the world in the know of where your nation stands. I will periodically update the first post by replacing whatever stats are there with your new stats which you have posted.
Every day is the equivalent of one year and is essentially one turn, our starting year is 1862, and though we will be starting mid-1862 don't let this bother you. Just don't.
Reality Police will be on patrol. If any player finds another player doing something completely absurd, such as Prussia building tanks or the CSA bombing Pennsylvania with airplanes or even using more manpower than seems plausable they are encouraged to make a reality police post with a bold title claiming that it is such and complaining about the matter. It will then be decided by the players at large whether or not to accept the accused action.
Infrastructure and Tech. Advance speeds are something new to the Unmodded NES, a nation with poor infrastructure is limited in many ways, and a nation with poor infrastructure cannot in reality hope to get technological advances quickly. Technological Advance speeds save me from having to devise technological eras. A Fast Technological Advancing nation will have, for instance, the automobile for mass production by around 1896, an Average nation will have that by 1910 and a slow will not until far later. Technological breakthroughs are more believable from Faster nations.
Now that the rules are roughly established we will begin with the game.

In the Americas several southern states have declared themselves independent and have lately beaten McClellan back from Richmond, they pray for European recognition as Robert Lee prepares to invade the North for the first time. In Europe Otto von Bismarck has been made Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Prussia. In Italy unification is celebrated and in Russia terrorism is invented. It is a time when homelands are won and lost, a prayer of victory and a call for retreat. It is a fateful year with Ironclads and minie bullets heralding a new era of warfare in the Americas and with Bismarck preparing to revolutionise European diplomacy. It is a year that will decide the fates of Empires, and a year to fight for your homeland.
