As a logical extension of our continuing alliance, Macedonia and Athenikia have merged. Each will retain complete autonomy over their affairs. The integration is one of mutual harmony, protection, and persuit of prosperity and intellectual achievement.
1 Talent spent for a celebration in Pella (the municipal district and notable citizen donors with civic pride will cover the rest of the costs) honoring the history of Athens and Macedon and their glorious future. Citizens of each nation are encouraged to learn about their new brethren. The skeptical are reminded of the military and mercantile benefits. In any case, it has been declared a "Good Thing".

        Macedonia to Persia

5000 per region is acceptable. We must maintain force for the sake of our population’s morale.
We can tell the difference between urine, and warm rain. Don't try to feed us any crap about morale. We will lower our numbers, and so shall you. We don't want to have to build a wall or anything nasty.
Or, we can have a Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty(SALT) in which we lower the amount of weapons and other such nasty warlike things in those areas. How about we just demilitarize any zones that are within 150 miles of the borders of our countries? I liek that idea.
Persia proposes a SALT(Startegic Arms Limitation Treaty) to Macedon. Persia also proposes creating a trade alliance, which will lower tarriffs against eachotehr's imported goods. Yes?

          Egypt to Persia
We propose a ceasefire and a peace treaty based on current borders. This is not a sign of weakness, but of humanity. The Egyptian army has fought bravely and now deserves to rest. Agreed?

          Bosporian Greek to Macedonia
An alliance? We like that idea, but we cannot send troops to help you in case of a war, because if we did, those filthy barbarians would simply overrun our cities.
But if alliance means that you will station troops here inorder to maintain peace, we will happily agree!

Agreed! We will send troops to help with your security as soon as possible.

            Macedonia to Persia :

Tariffs are already pretty low. We can mutually lower them a very little bit, but not much.

Apparently your harem has distracted you from your empire. We have already reduced our troop numbers to the agreed levels. Will you?

              Roman Republic

              a.d.XVIII Kal.Quin. 317 bc. (ante diem duodevicesimum Kalendas Quintiles(june 14th))

              Triumph!

Legion I Romana commanded by the legatus legionis dict. Laurentius has dug a fortified camp near the etruscan border to secure Rome from North. Legions II Italica and IV Augusta along with their commanders Fluvius Camillus and Publius Cornelius Scipio have returned 2 of the 3 victorious legions to Rome in triumph. A week long celebrations and public holiday has been declared and the state has organized public feast featuring gladiator fights and chariot races for 3 consequtive nights.

              New dangers

After the week of celebrations Romans quickly return to normal state of emergency. There has been some discontent among the plebs and the power struggle between senate and public comitium has had some grave consequences. But the feast and triumph has healed some wounds, still, despite the apparent need of fresh legionaries the senate has decided to treasurise all this years income. The legatus legioni will have to deal with the samnites with what they already have.

Dict. Laurentius is furious, but can not leave the northern border undefended. He realises his hands are tied right now. Fortunately the scouts have not reported any major troop movements by the etruscans. Laurentius has send secret negotiaters to the nearby city of Tarqunia, but so far the traquinians are waiting for the inner negotiations with the other etruscan cities to complete. Thankfully the etruscans are scattered among equally sized cities whose alliances have never been too strong and actions unified.

Meanwhile secret negotiations with the Neapolis patricians are starting to bear fruit. The remains of the neapolese garrison have fled to the nearby island of Capri and from where the Samnites have been unable to drive them away. In fact they haven't even been able to land on the island and the continous resistance from the local greeks have forced them to withdraw from the vicinity of Surrentum, Pompeii and Stabiae. The greeks have been able to help romans make nightly invasion right next to Neapolis with 2000 swordsmen from legion IV taking the samnians completely by surprise.

Senate has declared a general war with the Samnians and Legions II and IV have joined the Legion III Latina at the Fort Latina. From there Legion II Italica has entered the samnian terriotory near the adriatic coast, cutting to the samnian rear. Legions III and IV have marched to Neapolis whose gates were opened to them by local insurgents loyal to Rome. From Neapolis both legions have regrouped to face the samnian army, while Legion II Italica has been marching towards the battlefield to attack samnians from behind.
The legatus legioni have been forced to use these complex maneuvers Scipio suggested because of the lack funds for reinforcements from the senate.

In Corsica the troops have mourned the needless loss of life and have built a shrine to the seagod Neptunus for better luck. The remaining troops have been securing the smallish island.

The senate has also learned about the alliance between the Athens and Macedonia. There has been some debate about what to do, but so far nothing has been agreed on and lots of room has been left for diplomacy.

              Orders

              - Entire income has been saved.
              - Except, 1 talent spend to build the shrine of Poseidon and 3 talents to held the festivities to lower discontent at Rome.
-20 triemes have been used to make the landing on the neapolese bay. 2000 troopers were used from the IV legion. Later they are to rejoin their legion.
              - Legion I camps near the etruscan border halfway between Rome and Ariminium.
              - Legions II, III and IV are to encounter the samnian army.
              - Corsican army is securing the rest of the island after wich they are to leave the island and join Legion I Romana.

Persia is dedicated to peace, but we are also dedicated to our soldiers who you have ruthlessly killed or enslaved! We demand our soldiers, weapons, and lands back, and then a cease fire may be considered.

So you are rejecting the SALT treaty? Why do you reject our treaty? It is perfectly fair!
We will consider lowering our troop numbers.
                how about this idea:
We both keep our troops where we want them, lower tarriffs, and also share shipping ports in the Sea of African american Descent(The Balck Sea)? We like that idea how about you?

                  Rome to Magna Greacia

Ave! We have noticed your concerns with the security of Elea. Undoubtly the Samnian hordes will turn their sight to your polii in the south if we dont stop them now. So we propose that you assist our campaign against these thugs and thieves and leave Elea for a while. Later for the sake of both of our security you could transport some troops from Sicilia to assit our offensive against the Etruscans. Together we have better chances in defeating both Samnians and Etruscans. As a sign of goodwill we will promise to protect the towns of Ancona and Adria in the future plus provide any military assist you need in defending Massilia. We are hoping to hear from you soon.

                  Vale Bene!

Ave! We seek an alliance with the mighty nation of warriors, Sparta.

                  Rome to Carthage

Ave! Greetings from your Roman friends, with awe we listen the news of a great wonder you have started to build. The new port of Carthago Nova might soon see roman merhanct ships too when the ban on jewellery is to be lifted. We have heard that you might have some trouble meeting our demand for the indian energy drink. As we grow impatient, we have started looking for alternative goods and markets. We have heard about an amazing energy drink brewed by a german tribe somewhere up north, possibly near hyperborea. We have send merchants to contact this tribe in order to buy a large amount of this to our thirsty legionaries. We would of course prefer to buy this good from you, so this is just to inform you that you may have some competition regarding this issue.

                  Vale Bene.

Ave! Would you like to engage in trading?

                    Macedonia to Persia :

What does SALT entail? If it is about limiting troop numbers, then we have already complied. What do you mean by "sharing" ports? All vessels are welcome in our ports so long as you can pay the docking fees.

                    to Rome :

Hail! Congratulations on your successful conquests. We welcome your friendship.

Note: If the patrolling fleet runs into any pirates (identifiable by the skull and crossbones, generally swashbuckling behavior, peg-legged parrots, or attacking and looting merchant vessels) their ships are to be burnt, sunk, or captured.

When we say sharing ports, we mean that both us give eachother very low docking fees. As far as the treaty goes, you have lowered your numbers, and we are satisfied. There shall be no more mention of the SALT treaty.

for the price of a few talents would you mind distracting Egypt somewhere in their eastern region section for us, while we reclaim our lands and enslaved soldiers? We will aid you with mercenaries, lowered tarriffs, and of course talents, maybe even some free The' if we're successful.

Some merchants say the city of Athens is protected by a huge battle fleet... Is that true? Can´t you use it, now that you annexed it again?

How about this...we will fund the western tribes, and you will find hte eastern tribes and a war of sorts may erupt between them, to thin their numbers. Then we can split the lands that they had. DO you liek the sounds of this? Persia does.

                                Sparta to Rome
Alliance? No. The Spartan people are proud of their independence, and they want to remain so. However our soldiers live for battle, and at this time it´s hard to find opportunities for them to fight without being dragged into dangerous wars.
We are mercenaries, you can hire us for your battles with the Samnites or Ethruscians (or those stuck-up Magna Graecians...); Our services would cost you 15 talents plus half of the loot.

An alliance? Of course! Send your legions here to figh those filthy Persians side by side with us! Otherwise, we´d have to decline...
As for trade, we would like to engage in trade with your mighty Republic, but our trade ships are being sunk just out of port. First those Pirates have to be stopped...

Trading? Thanks, we are self-suppliers! We already have lots of finest Roman fabrics and bronzeworks, the last two ships we captured were transporting tons of that stuff...
We could save your ships from being attacked for... let´s say... one talent per year? (5 talents each turn)

Your proposal is acceptable. We are also interest in the Island of Pharos on the Western mouth of the Nile... If you gifted it to us, we could help you in defeating the Egyptian army... However, take into account that we will first have to deal with the Cyrenaicans...
About the thé: We are willing to improve our offer:
3 talents each turn for fifty shiploads of this valuable stuff. What do you say?

                                Carthage to Rome
We might be able to get large amounts of thse crushed leaves you need soon, for let´s say 5 talents per turn?
