I've been posting improvements to civil liberties and equality and quality of life in all the colonies, so Ghandi doesn't really have anything to protest against, as Indians aren't discriminated against.

yeah i saw the movie. The point is, India (and the other colonies are free--not free as in independent (though they are reasonably autonomous), but free as in they have the same rights as the citizens in Britain. Ghandi is probably at this point a happily (?) practicing lawyer, he has no reason to fight injustice because there is none (well, not none, but very little considering this is the early 20th century. And what little there is, the regional admnistrations are busy eliminating, so Mr. Ghandi or anyone else like him need not concern themselves with any such problems in the British Empire.

OOC: Gandhi might have had his movement, he might not. Either way, it was still quite weak in 1907 so it's not that big a deal right now anyways.

Air force: beginning construction of airplanes(recon), with the help of our allies. (3 years) (5 if they don't help)

Navy: upgrading to Huge (7 years)

New tax reforms implemented. More rights given to the poor. A raise in taxes from the wealthy and a tax cut for the poor.

Propoganda boosted, nationalism growing dramatically.

Brazillian troops begin pulling out, little by little.

A much tougher military training implemented. Boot camp is now 16 weeks long, skill training increased.

goober, what you said is true, but things are much better than they really were at the time, they could even be considered mildly reasonable, even if conditions were occasionally unjust. At least in this British Empire, all the native citizens are officially and legally equal, even if in practice that isn't always the case, and we're working towards resolving that as well. And I'm hoping that my Britain will be able to retain most of its colonies, continuing to be more equal in representation and civil rights.


Am i correct in assuming that the U.S. has now withdrawn/been foced out of Canada?

Canada, Australia, and Ireland have been externally industrialized enough that they can continue improving on their own, adding significantly to their prosperity and bringing the overall economy up to Booming once again. The new modernization lists are as follows:

First tier:
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia

Second tier:
Burma, South Africa, Botswana

Obviously we aren't going to be able to hold onto every single one of our colonies, but i'm going to do my best. That's the main reason I chose Britain, to see if i could keep it together. There is no concrete rule that says Britain must lose its colonies. It will depend on historical circumstances, like everything else. Besides, this is all assuming this NES will progress that far (which I hope it does). But as far as I'm concerned, the sun won't set on this British Emprie.

Cuba, seeing no objections to it's constitution after one and a half years available to the world takes it as a sign that the policies outlined therein are appropriate.

Cuban forces establish Bases on the nearby island of Haiti, the promise of work and a higher standard of living make the skirmish just that. only 4 Cubans and 17 Haitians were injured or killed before the people surrendered to Cuba.

Haitian and Dominican Citizens have been given the same rights as all the other citizens of Cuba, including accurate representation in the New Cuban Democracy.

Political Battles within Cuba:

Jose Rocalupe is getting criticism for his taking of a second wife, the people are claiming that it is against Catholic morals and should not be tolerated. Jose says that he has more than enough love to give, and he'd like to have someone around who'd be willing to recieve.

Currently there is no law in Cuba that says this is illegal, but the case is now going through the court system. It is helping to establish party lines in Cuba though, making the establishment of a Coalition government highly unlikely.

To Italy:
It was not that we were rejected, it was that your allies ignored our nation, trying to say that some idoit fishing trip is more important then the nation of Austria. This insults our nation and we cannot sell you any cities, they are past of the Austrian Empire and will remain as such if we have any say in the matter. We simply do not understand how you could be allied with such natons as Germany and Russia.

To Britain(secret):
We would like to set up a joint project of developing an airforce with these new airplanes that seem to be very usefull in warfare. Our top scientist have been toying with the idea of making armored cars so to speak that have guns on them to help our infantry units in the flied of battle as well.

To United States:
We accept your terms of peace and will sign the treaty.

Agreed. We already have a very small aeorocraft corps, we can give you a few prototypes to speed your project, though honestly we are still having problems with the technical aspects of putting anything more potent than pop guns on them. We would also like to take part in the armored car project.
