Polaris,
You give about a 1-2 MONTH deadline, ie(Shogun) and whatever other game you have. Don't put this on my back, you ask any other exjperienced dipper who's responsibility it is for seeking replacements and they will all answer the nation's leader.
You're very good at putting blame on other people, you don't personally know slick Willy by chance, do you?

I don't disregard the Apolyton Diplomacy community. I've created five stable variants for the community to play, and I've played shorter than probably any other people here besides the incoming rookies. That shows my committment.
I've already had one pissing match with you Polaris and don't feel like having another one, but one comment. Commitment is not measured by number of variants created. Commitment is getting moves in on time most of the time as a player, and keeping a game moving if a GM. It's something you can't really buy, except with a lot of generally unblemished time.
All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.
Then maybe you should just stick to making variants from now on.
And if your week just started now, why did you fail to turn in orders like, yesterday or the day before? It's been 4 days. Surely you could have made up some moves for your games allowing them more time to find a replacement (whose responsibility isn't theirs, it's yours).

Polaris,
That is about the most ridiculous argument I ever heard, and from a supposed educated individual. I am lucky to be in games with a GM, AS OPPOSED TO WHAT, NO GM. In the case of your games how lucky are we to be in the game if it never finishes, how lucky are we then. As for computers, believe it or not we still played Diplomacy via board game or the old form of media, the mail. Acutally, playing by US Postal Service is probably quicker then playing one of your games through a computer.
I don't think you want to continue this pissing war, you are just digging yourself a deeper hole.
Spend your time off wisely, take a logic class.

Polaris,
If your mother is ill, I hope she gets better, honestly. But that is no excuse for you, in the US everybody does have a postal account, you have to by law, except for the homeless and they are not a part of this community. As for computers, board games, anybody involved in this gaming community does have it. As for you GM'ing a game, that is a joke, you have never finished GM'ing a game how nice is that, you will do the builds when you want to, you have proven your irresponsibilty over and over again. You were nice enough to GM a game, how about you finish one for once, try that on for size.
If your mother is ill maybe you should back out of Apolyton all together until she is better, no game or thread is worth sacrificing time with your mother if she is in dire straits. And if that was the problem you should have told us that ahead of time, then we would be more apt to help you or look out for you until you could return.

Polaris, this is really becoming a tired theme with you. Somehow everyone, save you, is responsibile for your duties. And there's always a catastrophic excuse for why you can't accept that responsibilty. Frankly I don't believe these excuses anymore.
You have the time to engage in lengthy pissing contests with people over the umpteenth delay and/or abandonment at your hands. In fact you seem to be ready respond immediately to any and all comments concerning the subject, not to mention all this activity on these illustrious story forums. And yet you can't take a few minutes to submit your orders (Domination, Seismic) or revise the maps (Shogun, etc.). Somehow the excuses ring hollow.
I think you really need to examine your decision to take up on-line Diplomacy as a hobby. One one hand you have a real imaginative, and creative talent. And with experience, I think you could be a great game designer. However, you also hold the essential values of Diplomacy players everywhere in utter contempt. It creates a frustrating paradox for those of us involved in your games.
My frustration with you has peaked. I will not participate in anymore of your variants, nor any games that you are a player in. Furthermore I will encourage all players at ADC to do the same. I call on LordStone as ADC president, and distinguished members like SnowFire and Defiant who have also spoken here on the matter to do the same. It is my recommendation that you be expelled from the club for a least 30 days, and only permitted to reenter upon after a period of reflection, the issuance of an apology to club members, and a promise to play responsibly and at a managable level on a trial basis. I also ask you to consider this out of respect to the rest of us, who enjoy the hobby and want to see it continue without interuption.
Regretably and unfortunately I have to agree with Ruff's disciplinary action request. I don't claim to be above anybody else or have the right to kick them out, I don't even like the idea, however we must think of the other players who depend on Polaris as a GM or a player. Italy(Domination) had allies and enemies and plans I'm sure for all. Now that Eli has taken his position all those plans have to be re-established and hopefully for all interested parties the plans leave off where the were. It is a lot of extra work that did not have to happen. Same thing happened in Seismic where WarVoid took over, it really disrupts the game and we all know it is just a game. But a friend of mine who plays here said that he uses this time for relaxation and entertainment which we all need as humans or we will go nuts. But what R & R can come from this when more frustration sets in due to the irresponsibility of others when they are depended on.
Same is true when he GM's, he has outstanding game ideas and imagination but what good are they if we can not finish a game or it is disrupted as his leisure, he has a responsibility to others as well as himself and family members.
Maybe the 30 days will let him get done what needs to get done at his personal level.
Then if he wants to come back in we let him at a minimal level, GM one game or be in one game and see how he reacts. This is just my opinion.
Lordstone you are the boss and maybe we should hear from you on this matter.
Remember, Ruff was right a while ago when he said we need to turn the reputation of Apolyton around, we have the rep of being slackers, never following through with games. Here is a chance for us to start clearing our name, if we care. I think in the past year Apolyton Dip has been turning around, Snowfire and Victor have the points updated, Ruff has the who's who on the responsibility board updated and we are finishing games, but we still need to do better. We have new members, Eli, Siro and Yoav and others, what kind of example are we setting if we can't control this site. We must give them reasons to want to join us and others also. We have a hard time filling a 14 man roster, we should have no problem doing that.
Sorry for the length.

I had a huge post here, but it doesn't matter. Of course, all the Dip freaks wish to know is that my break will be much longer than a week, if you can call it a break. And that now my undeveloped creativity RUFFHAUS speaks of will now be developed away from ACD, and at a new community. I know to not ever GM a game again, so I won't. But you've just lost a player, or a mind, for this community. I refuse to make and develop variants and creativity for this community any longer. In other words, no 30-day ban, because I no longer play or GM in any game. Good riddance.

I propose that Polaris be dishonorably discharged from the Apolyton Diplomacy Club, and that a full list of his wrongdoings be entered into record. I submit my own entry:
-Failure to fullfill duties as Turkey in San Andreas Diplomacy.
Perhaps future generations will view upon his record and know precisely what NOT to do.
