  • Perhaps a game of Napoleonic Diplomacy?

    http://www.diplomacy-archive.com/res...napoleonic.htm

Read everything. If you are confused on the IPs and Minor Powers, just ask over ICQ.

NOTE: We will not be using the rules for Special Fleet and A/F. Hope thats ok with everyone.

Thats the map we will be using. All I did was color it, and add the units.

We can have preferences right now. We just need five players.

    -----
Now, some questions a more experienced GM could answer for me on this variant after reading the rules.
1.) Do the Major Powers get to "bank" their IPs? Say England has 7 IPs. They obtain another 7 the next year. So that means they have 14? Or does it remain constant every year according to the number of SCs and what not?
2.) Does the GM actually move the Minor Power units, or just retreat/build for them?
    -----

Can't play the game without clarification of the variant.

After this is finished, I plan on modifying Shogun and trying it out again. I've had my eye on this variant for a while. I am, afterall, French.

You are driving me nuts Polaris, was your mother near Chernoble when it went glowing in the day?

I would be hard-pressed to find people who would be willing to join a PolarisGL game. The experienced players have seen (and often been directly involved) in your track performance as GM. And this game is far too complex for the newbies coming in.

Yeah, I should actually use a magnifying glass for the map, Scott. I wonder why James Nelson made it like that.

*Ignores both Defiant and LordStone1's rude and childish comments.*

And like I said, to Shogun people. Shogun needs lots of touching up, which I don't want to do right now.

The answers to your questions (which are at the website, if you read everything):

1.) Do the Major Powers get to "bank" their IPs? Say England has 7 IPs. They obtain another 7 the next year. So that means they have 14? Or does it remain constant every year according to the number of SCs and what not?

IPs have no other use apart from bidding for Minor Powers and they cannot be saved and carried forward.

2.) Does the GM actually move the Minor Power units, or just retreat/build for them?

A Minor Power will be controlled by the Major Power who bids the most for it.

I think the confusion is from this line (emphasis mine):
The GM will make all unordered retreats and builds for Minor Powers in his unfettered and unchallengeable discretion.
                All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.

                    Polaris
I am NOT asking you to touch it up, I'm asking you to finish the one in PROGRESS. 5 people spent time talking to each other setting up strategy, I believe they deserve you to be as dedicated as they were, whether or not the game is lop sided one way or another.

It ended in a draw... that I think you or RUFFHAUS proposed...

Thanks for crowding this thread up. I appreciate it.

Yea, 11 posts and not one takerimagine that hint, hint.
Ruffhaus8 proposed a draw if not taken up by the 15th and he has not followed through, hoping you might pick this back up.

                          Its only been an hour.

Yes, Defiant, and if you weren't so daft, you'd figure out that I am going to be doing Shogun diplomacy again once it is touched up.
