Hmm I went to the UN home page and it loks like there are currently a lot of nations in the SC. Go to

Yes, but there are only five permanent members (six in this thread because the US broke up). I think the permanent members are the only ones with veto power. So you're not going to change that, if you propose to, one of us will just veto it. The permanent seats will stay as is, while other members are elected (or on a rotation, which would be easier to moderate)

I vote for Brazil to enter the security council.

I am Nestor, probable Argentine president (as from 24/3/00)

Wait wait wait, if we're going to vote on the other seats of the Security Council we have to get it organized.

First off, we have the Permanent Members:

                      ICE
                      CW
                      CTA
                      NSR (Neo-Soviet Russia)
                      NSF (formerly Franco-Spain)
                      England

Now, how are we going to decide on the other seats? Let us assume there are 10 seats (is that reasonable or should it be less since there aren't that many posters?). The 6 permanent members will stay. The reason why you can't get them out is because any proposition to kick them off as permanent members will simply be vetoed by the nation getting kicked off. Now, some nations (Germany, Brazil, CRME) tried to get on as members (I assume these were for permanent membership as the other seats are still open) and each of these requests were VETOED, so it doesn't matter what any other nation votes.

Now for the other 4 seats. How will we decide who gets them? Will we vote or will it be on a rotation? Before we decide who's on the council and who's not, we have to decide how we're going to decide who's on the council and who's not.

Oh, and probably presidents don't have a vote. The delegates sent to represent a nation in the UN has a vote, not the president himself. If you control a nation, you control your delegates, but if you're only playing a character, you have no say in this.

                          WHAT??
All nations should be allowed to be in the UN!

Hodad, certainly all nations are allowed into the UN, but not all are in the security council. I pointed out HsFB because he said he was the "probably president of Argentina", so he doesn't have a vote if he's going to just control a character, if he controls all of Argentina, then he will get a vote. Think about it, does George W. Bush or Al Gore have a vote in the UN?

Greater Arabia thinks that at least one of the 3 Scimitars of the East should be in the security council.

                                *Bows to BearCat*

                                You have been too kind.

Now for my proposal. I believe that we can have the 6 Permament members and then maybe 1 rep from each continent. Then, we simply vote on the remaining 5 members (if we want 15)

*By size I mean nation density...Europe having alot of nations.
