I'm sorry. The security council is supposed to be small. Russia would sooner leave the council than watch it grow to 8 or more members.

OOC: Actually in the real UN there is more then 10 members on the Security Council. The five permenant members and the rest are elected by the assembly.

I believe Ducy is right. So the original 6 at the beginning on the thread were only the permanent members with veto power.

So, a review of voting for entry into the security council as a permanent member:

            CRME: No, vetoed by NSF
            Brazil: No, vetoed by Russia
            Gremany: No, vetoed by Russia

We think that Greater Arabia should be considered as an able addition to the security counsil, although we fear that Russia wil once again use its veto.

Bas, read Ducy's post, you can be a member, just not a permanent one with a veto.

                  Official Bulletin Released
CHILEAN PRESIDENT HODAD HAS BEEN DEPOSED BY HIS SON HODAD II.

Hodad II has announced that Chile is lifting the blockade on Cape Horn. Chilean destroyers have reported to Easter Island naval base. He pleas the UN to let bygones be bygones, for Chile will start a new policy.

He also wishes to form a South American Coalition, and invites Argentina, Brazil and Peru to join and to vote for a president. The German Empire is invited to join too, can vote, but may not be elected president since it only holds protectorates. The elected president will also represent SAC in the UN. The objectives of SAC are to conform a mutual aid and defence treaty between all nations of South America and all decision concerning the rest of the continent shall be debated and voted upon.

He also offers an alliance to the German Empire and the Polynesian Coalition.

And he will fly personally to London to settle the differences between Britain and Chile.

Finally, he has sent this petition to the UN:

                  To: UN
                  Subject: The Falklands
                  Message:
We present this petition to the nation of the world to consider the Falklands as the true property of the Government of Argentina.
The British ruthlessly usurped these islands and we would therefore consider it to be a just and fair action for Britain and Argentina to negotiate the passage of these islands to their rightful owner: Argentina. These should be moderated by the UN since Argentinean claim is true and should therefore be considered.
I thank the world leaders for their attention.
                  Hodad
President of the Socio-Democratic Republic of Chile

The NSR demands that the nations be given a chance to have a temporary seat on the Council. We believe that the nations that wanted to join should be voted upon and not vetoed like some insect.

The SAK believes that a group or rotational Security Council seats must be created, so that the five nations do not force their will upon the world, and so that all voices may be heard...

Perhaps 3 seats on the council, rotated annually or biannually among the other nations would suffice.

OOC: Hold up, hold up, did you read Ducy's post? That's what it's like now. We just have to find a rotation or hold general elections. Either way, the 5 permanent members aren't the only members. I assume that the other members who requested entry were for permanent membership.

Hmm I've only been back for a while now but I think that the security concil should remain fairly small. How about this, the Security Council is elected. About umm maybe every five years or so. The General COuncil votes on the issue (and when voting no one is above the other person i.e. no special privelages mod, veto, or such ). And so every five years another Security Council is elected. Does that pacify eveyone?

As I said in the regualar thread I'm retracting my decleration of war against the UDSA. I now have Chile and Argentina to worry about!! And I want a mod decision on this Chilean imperialsim. Do they have New Zealand or what? And when I've been fighting Ecuador for so long can he just drop troops in their capital and claim it his? I want a mod decision .

Oh and I nominate Brazil for the SC seat. They are a logical choice beings that they are larger than us. It also benefits Peru seeings that we have their ear as a brother.

                            Happy Posting!!

P.S. - What if we had a SC representative from every continent. It's just an idea?
