CW News June 15-30 2001

CW suspends air asault on UDSA due to internal strife...fears of civil war as military and civilian groups clash

CW armed forces in chaos...President Rossi demands peace in his nation...UDSA refugees pour into northern PA and New Jersey

CW R&D Department passes plans for Gargantua class Tank and Leviathan class superbattleship/carrier...development and testing on the tank to take 2 years while the new warship will take upwards of three...neither will see service until 2006 at the absolute earliest.

The Irish Missile streaked toward the CW destroyer. Hit amidships, the ship was soon aflame, but quick damage control saved the vessel from destruction. Seconds after the missile was fired, even before the fire spread on the destroyer, CW counter fire raced towards the shore. Dozens of explosions smashed into the beach and surrounding hills. Smoke quickly concealed the area, but was tinged with orange meaning inferno. Jets from the forrestal launched napalm on the Irish countryside, and the insolent rebels even attempted to shoot one of our F-18s down but failed. This continued for an entire day, with the CW devastating the surrounding area and the Irish continuously returning fire. This could be the beginning of a long CW involvement in Ireland.

To Canada: We were threatened to allow the anti-UDSA nations to use our land as a base or else we would be at war and we dont want that. So while aggressive elements of our military started to participate, the passive ones stood down and now a civil war seems imminent. In other news, we would be more than willing to provide you with some aircraft for your defense and we will even give you some of our active planes seeing that we are waiting new replacements anyway from our hard pressed fctories. You will be provided the following equipment:

48 F-16 Fighters
24 A-10 Warthogs

To UK: We are dreadfully sorry to see London reduced to the level of Beirut. It is sad that one of the greatest cities on earth is under siege and we hope our troops change that. Anything you need we will do our utmost to supply in your time of need...King Arthur was destined to return in England's darkest hour and with the death of James Bond , and the siege of London, a good time to return would be now...perhaps England has darker hours yet ahead...either way, the CW will stand with them.

OOC: I never thought I'd post on a story thread at Apolyton again, but I find myself reading this one. Just a few questions and some comments.
- "Leviathan class superbattleship/carrier"
This little piece of unrealistic crap needs to decide what it wants to be. Do you want to spend billions on a large Carrier? Or do you want to spend billions on a large obsolete Battleship?
Considering what happened to the big Carrier fleets of Thirdwar I would suggest neither. Instead I would suggest building smaller, stealthier carriers. These Carriers would be easier to build, cheaper to build, and a ton more realistic than what you want to build.

Napolean, Brazil has no tank works, no established tank building facilities, and no people with experience in building tanks. To say you could build a tank better than the T-90, M-1A2, and Leopard II is idiocy. Just buy your tanks for now, learn how they work and then build one of your own.

Welcome, Bolo! For all I know, Spartan doesn't post here anymore, so I guess you can take Franco-Spain. It has been attacked by several nations though, and you might need to get them out of your territory first.


After heavy fighting, with over 25.000 casualties on both sides, the stronghold of the Christian rebels in Chad, Moundou, has fallen in Arabian hands. All of Chad has now been pacified, but all involved corps will remain in Africa for the time being. Greater Arabia is hereby volunteering to lead the quest against CW imperialism in Africa, and has offered the nations of Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso and Nigeria defensive help in case they are attacked by imperialist nations.

- Arabian fleet has arrived at Comoros, Comoros have been annexed into Greater Arabia
- Production of the Qubth-ut Allah continues, over 440 have been produced now.

Yes, don't try any of that "superbattleshipcarrier" crap, I assure you it won't work, 10 $25,000 torpedoes would quickly sink a billion-dollar superdupership. Smaller, more agile ships are better.

And I also advise you not to make heavy tanks, I will just either have my light tanks drive circles around it and fire or have my artillery fire at a slow, slow target.

Bolo, go ahead and take Franco-Spain, this should be interesting.

Scandinavia:
To prevent further techno-terrorism from Scandinavian rebels, the German government has cut all non-military communications lines out of Scandinavia. Satellite systems have been shut down. Telephone and data lines have been cut. The government has instituted a new series of security protocols to prevent something like this from ever happening again.

With more 48 more B-52 bombers having been sold to Germany, bombings on rebel positions in Norway are steadily increasing. The rebels continue to hold out, but the air and sea blockade, coupled with continued bombings, has begun to take its toll on the enemy. Many rebels are starving and some partisan groups are out of ammunition and supplies. The supplies which the British gave to the rebels were intercepted by German and Russian forces several days ago.

France:
The German forces, having completed their regrouping and consolidation efforts, have resumed the southward offensive. Near total air superiority is in the hands of the Germans and Italians. As the German Army began to move south, stiff resistance was encountered and German ground forces are steadily advancing, though with heavier casualties. The Spartan forces are fighting a three fronted war and, with their forces divided, complete military collapse seems to be just a matter of time. The Spartan forces have fallen back on Limoges and are continuing to withdraw to the south while putting up a strong fight.

The beleaguered citizens and defenders, after two months of a sustained siege, have surrendered to the commanders of the German Second Army group. German troops for the third time in 150 years, paraded into Paris. Many Parisians who came out to line the streets openly wept at the sight of German panzers rolling into the city and cried as the German flag was raised over Paris

ScotF: you might be interested in knowing that Argentina had to send for special tanks to be made that did not exceed 30tons for the simple reason that they couldn't cross bridges if they were any heavier.

OOC: I didn't feel like writing it all detailed so this will have to do.

Three fronts, how can I fight a war on three fronts?, the thought went through the mind of General Pierre Bolo over and over. Three fronts? what do they think, we are supermen?, he thought.
Standing in the former Spanish king's palace in Madrid, the government of the Neo-Spartan Federation was holed up, fighting a losing war but not a lost war. The civilians knew that if they absolutly had to they could give up France altogether and fight a war in the Pyrennes, that would last years and cost the enemy millions to finish the war. And that is what they decided they would do, it was also the reason they had called Bolo in to tell him.
As he listened to them outline their plan he wondered if all sanity had slipped from their feeble minds. A war of attrition in the Pyrennes? It was obviosuly a possibility but why do it at all why not negoitate a peace? These civilians were so blindly militaristis that even in defeat they couldn't see they were beaten.

"Sir, with all due respect, this war is lost, why not negotiate, if you do I am sure the Germans and the Italians will gove us our land back." Bolo said with the patience of a school teacher.

"Defeatism!! I should dismiss you right now General Bolo but you are too valuable to the Neo Spartan Federation." Roared one of Spartan's top aides.

"Very well sir." Bolo spoke, his words like ice, anyone who knew him well wouldn't dare confront him with news he didn't like now.

"I am glad you come to the Spartan way of thinking General, you may now return to your troops." The aide said without realizing how close he was to losing his ability to speak.

Two days later, Madrid

"All right so that is the plan ladies and Gentleman, do you think you can carry it out?" Bolo asked his gathered subordinates.

His second in command Colonol Diego Hayak, raised his hand.

"Sir, are you sure you want to go through with this?"

Yes, Colonol Hayak, they want us to fight a war of attrition in the Pyrennes, thats insane, when negotiation is possible. No we must go through with this, we must overthrow the government of the Neo Spartan Federation. It has lost touched with what is happening in the real world, it must be stopped before more people die when they don't have to.

Three days later, madrid

General Bolo commander of the Sixth Army stood up in the cupola of the Leclerc tank, as it drove down the middle of the Madrid street at 2pm in the Afternoon. Overhead Mirage 2000's and Rafales were seen overflying the city. Just outside the Royal Palace, Bolo spoke into a loud speaker which also tied into the building's P.A.

"Members of the Neo Spartan Government you are under arrest for treason against the Franco-Spanish state. You will surrender yourselves or we will come and get you with deadly force."

Thankfully the government hadn't completely lost touch with reality, faced with the threat of force they complied with General Bolo's orders and came out of the Palace in an orderly fashion.
General Pierre Bolo found himself the new ruler of Franco-Spain, or what was left of it anyway.

About this 'one post invasion', maybe not...I dont have Buenos Aires yet, in contrast to Bearcat's posts. I am about 75 miles NorthWest in Rosario laying siege to a good portion of the Argentinian army.

The General gives the go!GOGOGOGOGOOGOGOGGO!!!!

Up over the font went thousands of Brazilian men and women...only to be mowed down by a machine gun. The first charge was met with heavy resistance but still went through. The Argentinians had little ammo and horrible guns. That didn't stop them from setting little traps of C-4. Explosions went off all around the city, killing men on both sides. It was half an hour of this until the tanks took up position around the city. Opening up with their main armament they wreaked havoc along the city. As the battle raged on in a burning city the casualties mounted but the NSR went on, this was the major chunk of the enemy force. After the city was taken, only a little force stood in Buenos Aires, a force that would surrender after this massacre. Argentina was falling and was falling fast. The campaign was started almost a month ago and already the first battles had been won. As soon as the infantry went in, the aircraft went to Buenos Aires to soften the men up. 5 hours after the battle started, it ended with a mighty explosion as a Predator went up in flames. Why had it taken so long? We had them completelt flanked?

That was the defeat of the Argentinian army. Now only 50,000 men entrenched Buenos Aires, a number to be brushed aside.

175,000 men marched for Buenos Aires accompanied by tanks. The remainder of the force will go out and inform the citizens they were now truly South American.
