The Glorious Canadian Republic shall rise again!

In a move that comes as a shock to many, the Pennsylvanian Commonwealth announced today that it would be working with John Carchier, the local politician towards the construction of an independent, unified, and strong nation. John Carchier is the elected leader of what has been Canada, and is widely believed to be the best choice for Prime Minister when the elections are held. The Republic of Canada's lands will include those held by the current Canada, and those being held by the Pennsylvanian Commonwealth. Key to the success of this operation will be the cooperation of these two countries. In his speech today, Carchier emphasized the main goals of the new Republic, stability, freedom, and prosperity.
"I resolve to put an end to all fighting in Canada, and to rebuild all that has been lost. Together we must be strong, and lead Canada into the new millenium. We must be proud of our work, and we shall never be beaten down!" Said Carchier in his speech.
Indeed much thanks must be given to the Pennsylvanian Commonwealth, which maintains troops and engineers in Canada for two of the three goals, stability and prosperity.

In an underground bunker just outside York, Operation Valkyrie was beginning. Locations of the targets had been recieved from the MI6 agents particulary James Bond(knew he'd come in handy ) who had sent the locations of several factories producing Tornadoes or Tornado parts. All that was needed now was the word of Air Chief Marshall James Bliss. And at 8:00 GMT, Bliss gave the go-ahead after conferencing with Prime Minister Draconis and the ministers of government.

HMS Ambush sailed quietly off the coast of Ireland. The ship was slowing and heading to the surface when she suddenly leveled off. Then suddenly a canister burst from its torpedo tubes. Then another, and another, and yet another. A total of 8 mysterious canister burst from the ship. Someone watching from the surface would have seen 8 flashes of light erupt from the ocean, streaking towards the sky.

In all, 85 Tomahawk missiles were fired. Some by ships, some by subs, and others air launched. The missiles went forth and struck their targets which consisted on shipyards, factories, and airfields. 15 were directed at the belfast shipyards alone completly annihilating production there. Production of Tornado fighter planes was reduced by at least 45% as most of the factories were hit. The Irish air forces were decimated by the unexpected barrage and were in no position to stop what would follow.

Typhoon fighter craft then descended on Ireland to pay retribution for all those killed on the 737 whose destruction was observed on radar but kept from the press to be released after Valkyrie had been finished. The Typhoons numbering over 250 eradicated any Tornados sent up to oppose them loosing just 5 of their own. Then Jaguar and tornado Gr3 bombers commenced bombing on shipyards and whatever factories that had survived the tomahawks. The first B-1UK lancers off the production lines also took part in the operation dropping 50 500lb bombs a piece on military targets since they were too imprecise to go after industrial targets which had civilians surrounding them. 10 Jaguars were lost to the irish anti-aircraft screen as well as 4 Tornados. Then the Royal Navy began the blockade of Ireland utilizing HMS Resounding Fury and Illustrious as well as land based craft for air cover. Operation Valkyrie had been successful. Due to the agents in ireland, few civilian targets were hit but the civilian workers producing military materiel were considered as military when rounding up the statistics.

HMS Invincible sailed into Gibralter to help enforce the decree that no italian or indian ships could pass.

Prime Minister Dracons annonces that the UK GNP has hit 1.8 trillion despite and in some cases because of the widespread conflict in the world.

Royal Marines have been dispatched to patrol major cities due to the increased terrorism. The marines will get about by Saxon Apcs and should be able to reach a hot spot within 10 minutes.

Commence with operation Patricia. Try to avoid civilians however. We wish not to harm the irish people, only their ability to harm the british people.

To CRME,

While we cannot particate in your holy war, we do support you economically and logistically. Also we ask you to close the Suez canal to Italy and Indian until their hostilities against france cease. Without the ability to trade through Gibralter or the Suez, Italy would surely have to end the war or risk econimic suicide.

To The Republic of Canada,

We are glad to see that the CW has observed its promise to maintain an independent Canada as we knew they would. Britain would be glad to help with whatever problems you may have and extend an invitation into a larger and more lucrative trade relationship.

To Italy and Indian,

Once again we ask you cease the hostilites in France. This war can not help anyone but can harm us all. Let us go forth into an era of peace and prosperity rather than beating each other into submission. Make love not war!

With this message the commanders of Hawk's Claw were all mustering their troops us for intensive briefing and training. 4 AEGIS cruisers were made ready as well as 2 Kilo and 1 Akula class submarine (these I had before, not the ones converted for mining). It will take much time for landing craft to be able to handle an entire army, and currently only 5 divisions of marines can be carried in landing craft. This is why all tankers currently in port are being commandered by the Imperial Navy for use in Operation Swift. In two weeks, Hawk's Claw will depart to an unknown destination.

In Africa...

The spearhead of the Imperial Army's exeditionary force has reached Accra. The government there was given an option to join the Empire as a colony to improve their way of life as well as end the constant tribal wars there. No answer has yet been receieved. While waiting for the answer, 2 divisions have crossed into Ghana near Tamale in a show of force. Imperial forces are also recruiting men fed up with the current government in Ghana (and there are plenty) and recruiting them into the Imperial Army to overthrow the current regime. This is why the expeditionary force carried more weapons than were needed.
