OOC: Hodad, I suggest taking either Pakistan or SE Asia, they should be more fun to play than Chile.

A crisis in East Africa has started after Eritrean forces have shot down a Sudanese MiG-21 which was flying over a disputed province. The Arabic Union is outraged over this hostile action by Eritrea, and war has been declared on the Eritreans. An alliance has been signed with Ethiopia, which features Ethiopian help in the attack on Eritrea and the ceding of part of Southern Sudan, more exactly the area south of the Sobat and east of the Jonglei Canal except for the city of Juba, to Ethiopia after hostilities with Eritrea are ended.
AU bombers have bombarded Eritrean anti-air defenses all over the country, which was not much of a challenge since the AU has complete air superiority over the country. The I Royal Oman Corps, the II Royal Saudi Corps, the I Emiri UAE Corps and the II Sudan Corps have overran Eritrean defenses in the west easily, and Asmara is not far away anymore after the city of Keren was captured. Meanwhile, the coastal defenses of Assab and Massawa have been bombarded as well, and Djiboutian troops have entered Assab without much resistance. Ethiopian troops have captured the rest of Eritrea east of 40 degrees. The final blow for Eritrea is not far away anymore, seeing that Ethiopia and the AU have surrounded the heart of Eritrea already.
Meanwhile, AU troops moved further down Somalia, and Gallacaio was easily taken. Still, the more important and the strongest warlords are residing more to the south, near Mogadishu. The I and II Yemenite Corps have captured Obbia where the local populace supported the bringers of peace and, not unimportantly, food and medicine, and the three Corps active in the Somalian campaign are now gearing up for an attack on the stronghold of the warlord Muhammad Amaziz, Belet Uen. From there on, the AU intends to secure everything east of the river Scebeli including Mogadishu, and the AU will advance river by river after that.
