Wow, this is cool. I was waiting for a rtor6 to open so to start from the begining at civfanatics.

Skilord, im guessing you took that map from the map bundle I posted on civfanatics? I believe there is another one there with borders around the land, which would look better. I suggest you look for it.

        Semeria
Ruler: Prince Jason (aka, Jason the King)
A people who are notable for their overly trained military, and the peasantry that don't fight are more seseptable for farming. The army is usually kept small, but better trained (to where one Semerian can take on 5) then its enemies and neighbors. However, they are more known for their naval expertise, and huge fleets.

              Polska!!!

Prince Mieszko had built an Empire. As far as he, or any of his advisors, knew he had conqured the world, but always those irritating rumors about the people across the forests. But everyone knew in their hearts that there were no people but the Poles, and if they couldn't be convinced of that fact after a particularly gruesome episode with a foreigner, as the victims said though everyone knew he was lying, a goodly portion of Vodka would have to be poured down his throat, until he believed the truth.

The sun benevolently poured onto the muddy paths in the middle of warsaw, it blessed the stones that rose to the sky in tribute of the gods, it showed that palace which Mieszko had built.

A small affair, though in no way humble, it was built of the finest stone in the kingdom, a pure black, with animal furs throughout it's single story, leading to the throne room. Mieszko sat on that throne, pondering what new worlds awaited him, to conqure. The sun glanced at him through a slit in the wall that served as a window. Life was good, for it is good to be the king.

Vodka waited in the bowl next to him, he didn't feel any urge for it. Women sat lonely in thenext room, waiting for him, but he didn't feel any need to reproduce right now. The Monarchy wasn't hereditary, it went to the greatest man, selected by the tribes elders to lead after the last leader died, which happened rather often, the elders themselves had to boast 34 years, while the average kings rarely lasted past 28.

Mieszko was 29, and paranoid as hell.

Hooves trotted to the palace, the Prince's hearing was excellent, the crowd had reached a silence, finally.

A bear's fur was hung over the throne room door, the invader pushed it aside and entered.

He was immense, standing maybe 6 feet tall, with an immense stone axe hung on his belt. Strong Poles stod on either side of him, their own swords, of a crude metal less than bronze, were ready, though they were obviously unsure.

"The Teutons wish to bid thee, hello."

Mieszko frowned, The world was shattered, the empire insignificant.

"The proud Polish Prince, Mieszko, returns the hello."

"I am, Ivar, we wish to ask a tribute."

Mieszko smiled weakly, "I ask the same."

              Ivar frowned at him.

"We did not come to recieve orders."

              'We'? thought the prince.

"I sit here to give them."

The axe was raised quickly, more quickly than seemed possible, the sword shot out against thge Teuton, bending, for it was a warm day.

Ivar ran towards the throne, swinnging his axe down.

He caught Mieszko's foot in the chest, his axe struck the prince's arm, a sick crack replied to it's strike. But the Teuton had fallen.

Mieszko continued kicking. violently against his fallen foe, until several cracks had responded from his ribs. A final kick to the head left him victorious.

The gaurds dragged the body out.

"Sir the Teutons have placed a seige."

"Build an army, the time has come to make ourselves known to this world."

              "You knew?"

"I have always known of the others, of the other lands." Mieszko lied, to come ahead of the curve. This was why he had lasted long as king.

Leaving the gaurds in baffled silence he walked boldly out, his arm screaming in pain.

"Good people of Warsaw, the time has come, to defend our good lands. I call you against those foreigners who have so infringed on our rights to live."

              Cheering replied. That was good.

"Vodka for every victorious warrior!" he called.

The Teutons were removed from the empire by nightfall.

Poland is now at war with the Teutonic tribe, we are expanding our size through the conquest, and it has built our army to medium, through volunteers seeking Vodka.

Most of the attributes of the historical Greece, (Location, beliefs, etc will continue as they actually did until I say otherwise) but as this is 4000 BC (OOC: what is the time progresion per RT?) for the time being my civ is just a bunch of wandering shepherds, ruled by opposing chieftans who occasionally raid each others' villages.
Those walls are absent of glory as they always have been. The people of tents will inherit this land.

It's a good map, I like this one better.

I might well be able to update tonight (Already?!) since I have to redo the map for the new civs.

I congratulate you who have selected to create a civ for your boldness.

The amount of time per turn will be variable, though it will settle on 2 years later, the present amount is 50 years.

                        ooc: Well, I'm glad I didn't take Rome, that would've been a total cross-post.

The Emperor Thud Qin has ordered that the good and settled people of Shanghai must englighten all of the primitive tribes around the city. They will come to praise the Emperor as the people of Shanghai have for many years, since they rose from obsruity and became a prosperous farming community.

Farmers have begun finding shiny rocks will tilling their land. The ore seems to be of higher strength and malleability than stone. The Emperor has ordered the smiths to begin experimenting with its use.
