OOC: If you would of read my post you would of realized it said fleet. DS9 never said how large the Bajoran fleet was. Therefore they could of launched anywhere from 1 to 100 ships. Now my armada is now proabbaly about 100 ships large, seeings as some of them were destroyed. Oh and BTW I'm following the series to some extent. I don't want to totally give myself away, but I would study up on Maquis history if I were you.

        Marquis attack Cardassian Colonies

Sixteen Cardassian colonies in the Demilitarized Zone have been taken over by the Marquis in the last 2 months. These terrorists are now in control of most of the DMZ. The one last Cardassian outpost is under heavy bombardment, but has not yet fallen. The Marquis have lost at least a dozen Raiders, but have captured 5 frieghters and a Galor-class warship. The Cardassian colonies sported large industraial and mining capacities. Even now, Marquis shipyards (the Starbase in the DMZ and some on the captured worlds) are building new fleets of Raiders.

This is why I always said Star Trek storythreads don't work in the DS9 environment. People take freak-races before the majors are all taken, and no-one who hasn't seen the whole series can possibly know all the details to keep it true to the background.

On the other hand, everybody knows good ol' Jim Kirk, the scenario was simple and you can't make much wrong.

And, yes, I am fully aware that nobody cares what I'm saying. So, sue me!

            Rochakal Shipyards, Romulan Star Empire
The Tal Shiar now had some thirty captured Ferengi warships under its control. One marauder, one war cruiser, and twenty-eight raiders had been captured or purchased by the Tal Shiar and its agents. After several weeks under refit, the last of the ships, a badly damaged Marauder, had been repaired and refitted and was ready to join the other ships. All ships had been equipped with cloaking devices, advanced sensor arrays, and most importantly, each vessel had been equipped with full automation and a computer system that would enable long distance independent operation. Romulan engineers had also tweaked many of the systems on the Ferengi warships, making them slightly more efficient. Speed increased. Weapons were more powerful and better targeted. Maneuverability increased.

Colonel looked out the view screen as the last ship departed its shipyard berth and entered formation with the other ships. He turned to one of his subordinates and spoke, "Is the command system operational?"

"Yes, Colonel. All systems have been configured as ordered. The war cruiser and the marauder will act as control ships. We will remain in near constant contact with their crews. The raiders will receive their orders and supplies from the two larger ships. Each ship has been equipped to direct, command, and supply fourteen raiders. The raiders will sortie in groups of four or five, returning to the warship for resupply. Their missions will be accomplished under computer control. We will only need personnel to crew the two command ships. The raiders are fully automated."

Lovok nodded, pleased at what his men had accomplished in so little time, "Excellent. And the problems with communications?"

"The technicians were able to solve the communications problems. We will feed the command ships target data and orders over encrypted and low-power channels on a near continuous basis. They will, in turn, relay orders to the raiders ever several days, directing them to targets and advising them in avoiding warships and detection. Communications with the raiders will be done in compressed bursts, which are nearly impossible to detect."

Lovok questioned, "And the possibility of detection?"

"Since if the cornered and unable to escape the raider's programming will have them self destruct. According to the simulations, none of our modifications will be detectable in the debris field left after the ship is destroyed."

            Lovok looked pleased, "Excellent."

"Of course, Colonel, if detected and destroyed there would be a curious lack of bodies for the crew," the major mentioned, apparently concerned.

"I am doubt that a lack of Ferengi bodies would matter in such an instance," Lovok stated confidently. "The ships will sortie for the operation as soon as they are ready. Look into acquiring enough Ferengi bodies to represent skeleton crews for each ship. The bodies will be placed aboard the ships later on, once the chances of detection begin to rise. You are dismissed"

"Yes, Colonel," said the major, who turned to leave the room, silently wondering where he could find several hundred Ferengi bodies without sending men to dig up cemeteries on Ferenginar.

Several hours later, the Ferengi raiders and the two command ships left the Rochakal Shipyards, cloaking as they went to warp.

How are battles handled? Should I write it or will the random event guy handle it.

                  OOC:
I say just write the battles yourself, since Floyd has disappeared again.

Also, when creating his evil plans, Bearcat should keep in mind that the Cardassians did not side with the Dominion for several years after contact with the Dominion occurred. They only joined the Dominion because of the humiliation of the Klingon attack on them.

We need more people to play. I think Bolo should take the Cardies if he is willing to post frequently for them.

In the Shipping Lanes, 11 light years from Risa
The Federation convoy plodded along the space lanes. two Miranda-class light cruisers guarded four anti-matter tankers. Anti-matter was the lifeblood of the Federation. Nearly every Federation spacecraft ran on a matter/anti-matter drive system and every Starfleet warship needed anti-matter to operate. Anti-matter was a rare and valuable commodity. It was vital to any war effort, and it was necessary for everyday travel in the Federation. Accordingly, anti-matter was always transferred in armed convoys guarded by a pair of light cruisers. This particular convoy, however, would never reach its destination.

As the four freighters and two warships cruised at low warp towards their destination, a starbase some forty light years away, they were attacked. Five Ferengi raiders decloaked, striking the convoy. Powerful jamming prevented a distress call from being sent. The Ferengi raiders, with the aid of surprise, greater speed and maneuverability, and more powerful weapons, tore the freighters and their escorts apart. Within five minutes, the attack was over, five Ferengi raiders, each one nearly undamaged by the engagement, cruised through the debris field, scanning the debris with their sensors.

Precision phaser fire lanced from the warships into the debris field, eliminating most of the incriminating evidence of the attack. No survivors were left behind. Not even their bodies remained, having been vaporized by the weapons of the Ferengi warships. The computer cores of the warships, their sensor logs, and nearly all surviving data records on the attack were destroyed. To ensure that little or no weapon or engine traces were left behind, the Ferengi raiders saturated the whole area with verteron particles.

With their task complete, the Ferengi warships came about in unison, cloaked and went to warp.

Four similar attacks had occurred elsewhere during the same day.
-A Vulcan merchant convoy was attacked and destroyed.
-A Klingon wartime convoy, carrying weapons for the vital war effort against the Borg incursion, was annihilated.
-A Cardassian ore convoy, carrying iridium was attacked.
-A Romulan convoy, carrying foodstuffs was also attacked.

In all cases, no survivors were found, no records were left behind, and no trace of the attackers remained.

                      • OOC: What's your problem? The Federation has Defiant (even if they haven't finished it yet) and Sovereign class ships. While Soveriegns may be dreadnoughts they can sure be used a wwarships.

                        Comment

                        • But the ships attacked wernt warships. There is no way that 5 ferangi raiders even with surprise on there side could take out a defiant or Soveriegn. A raider is about equal to an miranda . A Warcruiser is about equal to a ambasador class, and a marauder is just a little stronger that the Enterprise D.
